  • Terrible Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room

    Level One
[strike]Clean floors [/strike]- not mopped but give the impression of being clean so will do!
    Level Two
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/strike]
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, clean out any spills or grots in there!
    [strike]Wipe dining table. [/strike]
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Check those washing machine filters and drawers for ickiness (and coinage)!! Tumble dryer and dishwasher filters need to be done too!!
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:
    • Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
    • Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. an old toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
    • Clean oven if you didn't do it last week
    • 30 minutes ironing.
    Deep Clean Challenge
[strike]Get in that pan cupboard. Give it all GOOD scrub out before replacing the things you need to keep. If no pan cupboard do a different one! Feel free to get carried away and do more cupboards!!![/strike] Cleaned out 2 cupboards which makes up for all the other stuff I didn't do!

    My List
Sew belts loops onto DH trousers - no more progress yet - maybe tomorrow!
Give the dog a decent groom & attempt to trim some hair!
Scan in as many photos as possible - aiming to make lots of photo books one day (lots more done - it's going to take me forever to make these photobooks!!)
Find some stuff 2 put on Ebay / Amazon
Attempt to do yoga 2 more times this week (tomorrow morning before work!)

Haven't done so much today but it all looks pretty good so I'm not too bothered. I'll catch up a bit tomorrow as I had a major blitz on the spare room at the weekend so tomorrow's list isn't looking too bad.

Michelle - Can't believe the supply teacher said that - what a nightmare.

    LJD1 - Good luck tomorrow.

Mamashaz - I showed the list to my DH yesterday & he rolled his eyes but I think he's appreciating me not being so stressed about the house! Anyway, he knows better than to be rude about anything on this forum. After I've been on here for a few years he's finally beginning to see the light and uses it all the time. (I think it was because I was talking about it with my best mates bloke & suddenly it was an ok thing to do because he uses it!! )

Right off to empty the washing machine do some Avon then go to bed.

    Evening everyone.

Want to send special hugs to all those who need them for sickness, poorly friends or rellys including my boss and her dad - he had an MI last night and is in coronary care. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Had a really busy day because boss was off and we've got someone else on hols so I worked thru lunch and finished half hour early. This meant tea for kids was a bit earlier meaning more time for flying :D .

I have decided there is no way I can do the living room, hall etc during the week as there is just too much to do in an evening - 2 living rooms, downstairs hall, upstairs hall, 2 landings, 1 and a half sets of stairs plus the spiral stairs is just a big NO WAY so I need to stop beating myself up about not doing it. Job for the weekend. I like kitchen day - find that the easiest.

    List so far

Monday Mayhem - Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Vacuum floors and sofas
    Dusting,
[STRIKE]Remove clutter [/STRIKE] actually NO clutter in these rooms
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
Water any thirsty plants, wipe their poor neglected leaves!!
Wipe light switches, sockets and banister
Clean any other glass like mirrors, pictures etc
Tidy shoes, coats and bags ..
    Extra Mission:
Pick one or more of the following tasks –
    • [STRIKE]Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper. [/STRIKE] none in these rooms :D
    • Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself
    • Clean a window or two.
    • Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!!
    • Ring someone you love, just to tell them you love them!!
    Deep Clean Challenge
Clean light fittings, skirtings even the ones behind furniture. Clean fire-surrounds. Wipe sofa's down. Clear as may hotspots as you can.. see if you can get it all into one pile instead of 15!!!

Terrible Tuesday - Kitchen and Dining Room

    [strike]Clean floors[/strike] - Will do in a minute
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/strike]
    [strike]Sort fridge[/strike] !
    [strike]Wipe dining table..[/strike]
[strike]Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round[/strike]
[strike]Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc[/strike]
[strike]Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..[/strike][strike]
    [/strike]
Check those washing machine filters and drawers for ickiness (and coinage)!! Tumble dryer and dishwasher filters need to be done too!! - For the weekend
    Extra Mission
    Choose one or more of:
    • [strike]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms [/strike]
    • [strike]Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. an old toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk![/strike]
    • Clean oven if you didn't do it last week
    • [strike]30 minutes BAKING [/strike]
    Deep Clean Challenge
Get in that pan cupboard. Give it all GOOD scrub out before replacing the things you need to keep. If no pan cupboard do a different one! Feel free to get carried away and do more cupboards!!! - for the weekend

And made a big chocolate cake for the kids (and I can only eat the butter icing )

I'm ok with the kids rooms tomorrow as DS will be at his dads so one less argument and hopefully DD and I can do hers together. Might even have time to fit in some [STRIKE]ironing[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]baking[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]ironing[/STRIKE] baking ...

Well DD didn't do her DVDs  She watched Robots while I went for a bath instead so I don't mind :rotfl: Made tea but it burnt as OH got stuck in traffic - took him over an hour to get home, usually it takes him 40 minutes  We still all ate it though and the left over rice is in the fridge as I made double the quantity :o

DD's room is going to be left until the Thursday or Friday as she's at a disco tomorrow night after school - depending on how she feels when she gets out of school  She's been told she gets to go in with a carrierbag for 15 minutes to clear out what she considers rubbish then I go in with a binbag :rotfl::rotfl:

No idea what I'll do tomorrow but the photos on the computer really need sorting out so I can get the newer ones from OH's computer moved over

  • Well I'm not doing too bad, about level 2. The house is tidier than it has been in ages, and I am decluttering like mad! 25 items on ebay ending at the weekend, and at £72.00 already - and what seems like a million watchers - if you are reading this - WILL YOU PLEASE BID - THANK YOU I feel better now I have got that off my chest!!
Soaked MIL today taking her for her pension and shopping - she wanted to stay in the car, but I am such a sadist I made her come with me (hee hee) and we walked to the post office just as the rain got worse and worse!!!!!
Still, I did offer to take her some stew tomorrow so she didnt have to cook with her windows being done (polishes halo:rotfl: )
Still, thanks to the flying I got 1 wall clear of wallpaper - although underneath is a pink paint which I KNOW (I have covered it before) is as bad as lil-me's yellow!!!! If you havent managed to cover it, the best product which works in One coat is a stuff called Base Coat - I got it from homebase, it isnt the cheapest option, but it takes a lot less time, and leaves the wall perfect for repainting.
Tomorrow I have one of the mums bringing their son up to play with DS after school, our first one, so I will be up with the lark shining the house and hoovering, I dont want them to know I am a closet slob yet!!
Good night to all, I hope most of you are feeling better tomorrow
