They want their divorce bill settled and rightly so. This whole thing has been a monumental disaster and may and her cohorts know it. They just can't admit it in public. It's all about damage limitation now!
Oh please! Their legal justification for the so called Brexit bill was dismantled by the UK team this week. We should honour the commitments we have made up to the point where we leave but not pay anything more afterwards.
What whining and self-pitying have you heard that no one else has. You're living on another planet, mate.0 -

So if I demand money from you . Then you'll pay up? Doubt it. You'll dispute the matter. They have had more than enough of the whining and self pitying coming from this government.
What whining and self pitying are you referring too?0 -

I was listening to a Tory mp on tv last week. She said there were a lot if mp's who voted Brexit in her own party who knew Brexiti was going to be a disaster, but were too afraid to say so in public because of the backlash.
Wow, MP's know its going to be a disaster even before it happens. If MP's "Knew" anything the UK wouldn't have had to bail out the banks , wouldn't have gone to war and we would never need another General election. If MP's know so much how come they predicted only 26,000 Eastern European migrants would come to the UK instead of the 200,000+ who actually came?..
Now lets face reality which is MP's are (in general) self serving cowards who would sell their souls to the highest bidder. They are amongst the least trusted vocations and many have a worrying lack of common sense................ Not sure what you mean by "laughing stock" , plenty of my German,Belgian and Amercian friends believe we are doing the right thing.
A country which has been a net contributor for all but 1 year of its 40+ years of membership doesn't do "self pity".. But your posts are funny and have made me chuckle so bring en on fella.0 -

There's no HoL monitoring the EU and holding it to account. Media barons no longer control the news in the era of internet social media. Arguably a pop star or band has equally as much influence over a section of society. Money has always talked when it comes to politics. That's a fact of life. As Gina Miller herself proved.
We elect MEPs just like we elect MPs so you have as much voice. Unless you elect anti-eu MEPs that take the salary but never turn up to represent.
I take it you don't know anyone who isn't elected in the EU, because there aren't any?0 -
Astonishing hogwash.
We're leaving, an act of parliament (i.e. law) enacted article 50 of the treaty of Lisbon.
Have you forgotten already?
All that has to happen is for no referendum and no election to take place between now and March 2019. And if you wanted bookies odds on either of those taking place I'm sure they would be as long as your arm. A fool and their money are easily parted. Go for it.0 -

That's not so much the issue. Rather.....The EU's 'democratic' system that elected a president nobody wants
A catalogue of complacency, negligence, miscalculation and manoeuvring by national leaders over the past nine months conspired to deliver an outcome no one really wanted – Jean-Claude Juncker, Europe's accidental president.
Says it all0 -

Why did you get rid of your original answer of 'Merkel and Macron to name two'? Is it because you realised you didnt have a say in the election 364 of the MPs in Westminster?0 -

"France’s aggressive attempt to use Brexit to steal business from the City and set up Paris as a rival financial centre to London is doomed to failure, the City of London’s Brexit envoy has told The Telegraph."“The problem is, it's quite hard to find people in the EU outside France, who think that the financial centre should be in Paris,” he said. “And my suspicion is that the French are probably are probably disappointed that so far they have not driven even more business out of London.”
Paywalled - but you get the idea.
Macron is not having exactly a good time of it is he, and his MP's?
Oh!A French socialist politician is in intensive care after allegedly being hit on the head with a motorcycle helmet during a fracas with an MP from President Macron’s party.0 -
Rusty.. consider this.
A UK party passes a law.
That party loses the next election and the party that won did so on the basis of repealing that law. They can do so once in government because it's part of our constitution to not bind subsequent parliaments.
During the parliament that enacted the law that got the government of the day ousted the EU also passed a law that we didn't want as a nation. It cannot be repealed by the subsequent parliament, the only way to do so is to cease to be under the political jurisdiction of the EU. Even your MEP can do nothing but advise and recommend, even when part of a pan-EU alliance of MEP's that would win any vote on the matter. The commission can simply say no, all that is required from the commission is a memo explaining why they said no. And I'm sure you're aware that on the commission you have just one un-elected voice amongst many representing every single person in the UK.
Where is the voice you speak of at the ballot box?0
