Good to see that between them the Brussels negotiators and Merkel and Macron, have given the UK's Brexit team the spanking it deserves.
First Michel Barnier says, 'Non,' then Merkel and Macron say, 'Non und nein,' and slam down the EU iron curtain on the grasping fingers of May and Johnson as they try and reach in to have their cake and eat it.
The show of solidarity and strength is really inspiring for all of us Europhiles keen to see Europe continue to grow in strength and stature in the world. Now without the millstone of the U.K. with it's myriad opt outs, rebates and vetoes, they can really start to dominate.
Of course it's pretty bloody awful for the U.K. as a country, but presumably the Brexiteers don't care about that.0 -
According to Euronews Tony B was meeting Junker to try to get some reforms to FoM - good luck with that Tony

It's obviously YOU who do not care about the UK. As long as remoaners see the UK as getting "spanked" they are happy.“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy.”0 -

Arklight is deluded if he thinks that is what happened this week......or a Guardian reader.
But yes plenty of remoaners seem to hate their country and the people who live in it. They would rather our country be run by unelected foreigners for the benefit of the global rich elites than for the ordinary people who live here.

For The Few Not The Many.
In what way is the European time directive, min holidays etc. For the few not the many?
Can you give counter examples of legislation for the few?
There are plenty of examples that have benefitted the many.
You do realise that we need to either
A) adopt the same legisltion anyway

Dennis Skinner voted Leave and was a Brexiter,Skinner backs exit to save Britain from EU capitalists’ clutches
Here's what he said."When I left school and went to work in the pits I was working with displaced persons from Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania and so on,” he told the Star. “The reason why that didn’t create a great many problems for the miners was that we insisted that they could not undermine our wages, they would be paid the same as us whatever job they did.
“And what’s more they had to join the appropriate union. That’s why there was harmony in the pits and that’s what should happen today.”Mr Skinner said the prospect of the NHS being subject to the rules of the pro-privatisation TTIP trade deal between the EU and US was also a “significant” factor in his decision to vote Leave.

Labour euroscepticism has a long history.
It is based on objection to the EEC/EU as a capitalists’ club.
A more interesting question is why did Jeremy Corbyn ‘support’ (if he did) Remain, since he is a confirmed Eurosceptic? Tony Benn and Bob Crow would never have been turncoats to the left-wing anti-EU cause.
The reasons why traditional Labour MPS were Eurosceptic:- The EU is a club of rich countries ganging up against poor countries: it imposes tariffs against African countries, for example, which causes sustained poverty there
- Free movement within the EU favours white people and forces restrictions on immigration from outside the EU - in short, it is a racist immigration policy. The free movement of workers from Eastern Europe undermines British workers, who are forced to work for less to compete
- It is anti-democratic and rabidly corporatist. Look at the European Commission (unelected) trying to push through TTIP, despite the widespread popular opposition
- In the short term, the EU treated democratically elected leftists in Greece and Portugal very badly, over-riding their sovereignty
- The Common Agricultural Policy - most on the left strongly opposed this, which takes up 40% of the EU budget
It was New Labour that entrenched a pro-EU stance. More and more it looks like Tony Blair, Mandleson, Cambell etc are trying to noble the UK Leaving the EU. They may well succeed but they are not acting in the interests of ordinary people but in the interests of the global liberal elites - who are "liberal" only in the sense that they support unbridled liberal economics.
So ARKLIGHT when you claim to care about "your" country - who exactly do you mean? The Liberal "elites" in your country or the working classes?0 -

aka business as usual for most companies
apart from a few cry babies, i think we are seeing that most EU businesses will just carry on with the UK as normal, like they do with any other non EU country, likewise with UK based business that currently trades with non EU countries
If people have things to sell, and people want to buy, government placed restrictions may limit the gain and benefit from the transaction, but they don't prevent it0 -
