Leaders announce in Tokyo that two countries will seek to instantly replace EU trade deal with a copycat deal for UKIt commits both nations to treating as an “immediate priority” the signing of a long-discussed economic partnership agreement, or EPA, between Japan and the UK. The joint statement says: “As the UK exits the EU we will work quickly to establish a new economic partnership between Japan and the UK based on the final terms of the EPA.”
May hopes such instant copycat deals – termed “cut-and-paste Brexit” by opponents – could be reached with other nations, creating continuity and confidence. They would officially be interim but could last some years before bespoke UK deals are reached.
Of course, this is the Guardian so it was then followed by lots of remoaner carp.0 -

I'm British, I know it's far from perfect, but financially I'd rather be sat here with my crap weather and iffy NHS, than Spain, or Italy or Portugal, or all of eastern europe, or France and most others.
Has it? You may realise that in the UK there's the perception of being better than Spain, Italy or Portugal or the likes, but reality is folks in those countries are actually better off financially.
What's the unemployment again? Yes yes everybody is working here...EU expat working in London0 -

The sight of the unelected Drunkard bureaucrat and the treacherous (also unelected) Bliar together makes me feel physically nauseous. (There, managed it without swearing!) :T0 -

Quote from the same article.Mr Barnier has just been given a grilling from one of our colleagues at the Sun.
He is asked why the EU is being so inflexible and is that indeed stalling the talks. He asks why on earth Tony Blair has appeared for a meeting with Jean-Claude Juncker on the same day as today's press conference, and is that the EU seeking to undermine the government. He does not address the Tony Blair issue.0 -
