There is a Pre-Action letter you can send in response to the LBC which asks them to detail what they are claiming and to supply the supporting information.
Either send that or wait to see if a claim comes.
Edit: It appears they have threatening an "immediate" claim for nearly three months now. How slow are these people. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yeah, it has been really slow, for all their gusto.
In your opinion, is it better to send a response, or to wait until further correspondence?0 -
if you look in the newbies thread, there's a link to a response to an LBC. The draft complains about all the ways in which they have not complied with the requirements of the new Protocol - some of it may not apply to you, so find the letter and read it and then perhaps post your LBC on here if you're not sure how much of the complaint applies to you. You also need to think about what documents/further information you might want to ask them for which they haven't provided.Although a practising Solicitor, my posts here are NOT legal advice, but are personal opinion based on limited facts provided anonymously by forum users. What's going on here???
I read several posts repeatedly saying "do not name the driver".
I then read post #21 which clearly identifies the driver.
That post should look like:Hi.You should edit your post similarly.
The keeper has now received a further letter from VCS Ltd (not an official court document). This time, the letter is titled 'Letter Before Claim'.
It is asking the keeper to now pay an increased sum of money before c. 20th December.
Can someone please advise what should be done next? Should a written response be sent back?
Thank you.0 -

Hi. The keeper has now received a letter from VCS Ltd entitled Notice of Recovery. It states that they have been awarded a CCJ against the keeper.
A separate correspondence has also arrived from the County Court, asking for payment.
Please can someone advise what should be done now?
Thanks.0 -
It looks like a) they sent a claim and b) you didn't deal with it or weren't able to deal with it.
Do you recall receiving anything from the courtThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Did you receive papers from the county court after your letter before claim, did you acknowledge service (AOS) and were you given a court date? Did you ignore all these and miss the hearing and the CCJ was awarded in your absence? It looks like you will have to apply for a set aside. Instructions on how to this are contained in the Newbies thread.0

Pay in full within 28 days of the CCJ date and it doesn't go on your credit file. Don't pay and it does and affects your ability to get credit and things like mobile phones, a mortgage, a loan, credit cards for up to the next 6 years. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
