Evening everyone
Dawn I feel tired just reading about all your food preparations, which I was that productive in the food area:o
FVD......step away from the pickled aubergine:D:rotfl::rotfl:!! Good news on the £2 coin find.
Had a productive day but can't really remember what I've done!
Did the usual bits first thing and then popped out to do some extra things.
Abit more work done in the back bedroom
Hospital appointment later and then went to stock up on cat food and snacks for when DD comes home. Had a £2 money off voucher so really happy plus a couple of YS bits:j.
I haven't really been keeping track of finances this month. DIY spends are high but budgeted for but didn't have a clue about grocery spends. Updated my spends book and totalled up grocery spends, really surprised to find that I am still on target and have £50 left till the end of the month to stay on target:j.
Reduced turkey steaks pulled out of the freezer to cook tomorrow with some jackets.
That's about it from me, have a great evening everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I arrived just a little too late at the YS run and missed out on 40p strawberries and mixed berries but they'd gone to a nice lady who usually hangs back a bit so I don't begrudge her them. I still managed to get a sandwich for tomorrow and a couple of packs of finest scones which are a bit too dry, any ideas what I could do with them, anyone?
I made the courgette and anchovy spaghetti, does anyone else pretend they're on master chef when they're cooking?
I've decided to take Thursday and Friday off and I'm going to build myself a desk (more of a long, wide shelf really.) I'd really like it to be done properly but I think I can do something that will be serviceable with a sheet of MDF, I can get the supports cut to size at the wood yard and if I make it the same height as my small filing cabinet I can slide that under and it will offer some more support.
I'm going to sort out and recycle all my magazine samples from the shelves in the same under stairs alcove because I am just about done with magazines and I want to clear some shelf space (and head space) for something new. I have made an offer on a SH office chair which won't look as pretty as my current shabby chic one but will be a lot more conducive to work.
I'm rambling, have a good evening allMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Hello Money Savers,
I've been sitting at a screen almost all day (except when our wi-fi crashed out) working on a local political project, so not much time for practical money saving today. A few things though, to show I've not gone off the rails:
*Laundry done overnight on cheap electricity tariff.
*Found a nice pasta bake in the freezer & have defrosted it to eat tonight.
*Pick home grown rocket & red spring onions to eat with it.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Paid another 50p into my sealed pot.
*Fed my sourdough jar ready to bake a loaf tomorrow.
*Started thinking about next week's meal plans, though nothing actually on paper yet.
*NSD.......just as well, having seen mr f's credit card bill this month!! (No naughty spending, just things we put on the card to maximise loyalty points, but it was an expensive month in terms of needing new vacuum, vet bill, dentist, etc, so I shall be doing a very thorough budget at the end of this week to avoid carrying anything over to next month & being charged interest).
*Caught up with Onepoll surveys. Unfortunately got chucked out of an Ipsos one, which was a shame as I'm not too far off being able to claim my next voucher.
*All free leisure today, as I want to continue reading current library book & with my knitting project.
OK, that's me done, I think I'll go & get the washing in. If there are showers up at Ziggy's & showers where mr f is working, then I reckon they could be heading this way! Cheers all,

Evening all
Not managed much today as we looked after little GD. However, we entertained her cheaply by taking her and the dog out for a picnic at a local beauty spot in our camper van (picnic bits bought yesterday with the weekly shop, and there is enough left out for a picnic for OH and I tomorrow). Only other cost was the small amount of fuel needed to get there! GD enjoyed sitting at the little table with her lunch, and doing the washing up :rotfl: Went for a nice walk with the dog afterwardsI think the most exciting part happened before we actually left though, when GD spotted a large frog hopping along our garden path :rotfl:
* HG raspberries for breakfast, GD found some too!
* No pennies directly parted with
* Received a garden item from Amazon, paid for from gift cards earned from surveys
* Dinner is from some of the food I made yesterday
* HG French beans as a side
* Claimed a £17.50 gift card from Quidco
* Got thrown off an Ipsos survey, awarded 5 points though, and these odd points do mount up.
* A couple of surveys for onepoll, will check Prolific later, but it is understandably very quiet in August

Hi everyone
Sorry I kind of disappeared off the planet. It wasn't intentional but when we got away on our week's holiday there was very little wifi and internet access and I was busier than I thought anyway. We had a couple of days in the Lake District which was almost a disaster because the company I'd booked through hadn't then gone on to complete the booking with the people in the Lakes... It's a long and boring story but I got my weekend free - although it wasn't what we'd wanted or booked. The complaint is ongoing.
Had to bring dh home for work then me and the kids went off for our 4 day break at a lodge in Yorkshire which was absolutely amazing! I really, really enjoyed it - the lodge was lovely and we had a private hot tub. It was everything I imagined and wanted. Feels like ages ago - we got back last Friday but I've been pretty non stop since then finalising things ready to go back to school and work and catching up with large mountains of washing.
I wish I'd been a bit more mse, but I haven't been - and that's why I work so hard with the exam marking. I did the rubbish stuff like hiring the skip at the beginning of the hols so feel like I deserved a week of enjoying myself.:o
Back to reality now though - results day tomorrow, which I'm nervous about then just another week until school starts again. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Blimey, the holidays went quickly, CCL
I've just had an eBay sale for £35 which has cheered me up no end
DS is off to Reading tomorrow so tonight will be all about packing. My mum has given him his birthday money early for spending money and the ticket is his present from me.
I can't go to work tomorrow or Friday as apparently there will be no trains from my station at all.
I need to buy some clothes washing liquid so will check out the YS stuff but I'm pretty sure I'm going to cook chicken from the freezer in some kind of sauce.

Good morning!
Yesterday was not a frugal day for me, I had to actually buy things other than food and I hate spending money!
I've bought my chickens a new coop, I was in turmoil whether to just get a cheap second hand one but I'm so worried about foxes I thought they deserved the safest option.
I also bought myself some special face cream for my Melasma skin condition I've wanted for ages but didn't want to splash out. Somehow, after braking the seal with the chicken coop I thought I might as well order the cream too!
I suppose the coop is an investment as that'll be free eggs for life, and my face condition does make me self conscience so I'm excited to see what difference this new cream will make.
Today my money conscience plans are:
Aldi for picnic things for today, tomorrow and Saturday lunches
Visit a park but not buy anything
Collect some coffee tables from my auntie who wants me to sell them and said I could keep the money, very kind!
Have friends over for dinner, we normally spend £40+ on a takeaway but I said I would cook Mexican instead and I have almost everything I need already, woo!
Buying a chocolate fountain off a friend for £5, brand new. My 7yr old will love that as his birthday present!
Started looking at my 2yr olds winter clothes so have asked on my local fb group if anyone is having a clear out for hand me downs.
Have a great Thursday everyone!LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0
