There is an expectation that someone with a severe allergy would contact the airline before flying. Peanuts may be given out otherwise.

As for the OP, should he willfully do an act that causes another person serious injury then I expect he would be dealt with by the criminal justice system.

Although more likely it's a wind up posted to get a reaction ...

Correct, because I probably don't eat nuts from one month to the next, but I'd bet that some folk look forward to their "free" nuts when on a flight.

It's been a long time since "free" nuts were given out when you bought a drink on board.

I've just given you a very recent example of nuts being handed out on a flight, and not with drinks - there's no alcohol sold on RB.

On all the long haul airlines I've travelled on in the last few years - Thai, Malaysian, Qatar, Cathay Pacific - none have given out "free" nuts.
The last time I recall it happening was years ago with Singapore Airlines.

It used to be standard on short-haul charter flights from the UK when you bought a drink years ago.

Maybe I should have been more specific.

Is it something that happens regularly on the airlines you fly with?

On the trips I've made with Royal Brunei - I haven't used another airline for many years.

I think it's likely that you wouldn't get your "free" nuts if another passenger advised the airline that they have a nut allergy.
