Morning
HK wow what a roller coaster it has been for dd, and you by proxy, recently! Any decision is the right one, it's just important to pick a path x
Another day off and the weather looks like it's playing ball. I'm motivated again, had a while there where I've been flat and can't be bothered
Plans for today:
* [STRIKE]taking madam to clarks to get school shoes and trainers. Will come out of her CB piggy[/STRIKE] £71 :eek: She has really wide shoes so can only ever get ones to fit in clarks and she needs shoes, trainers and plimsolls!
* [STRIKE]will make sandwiches, drinks & snacks with us[/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] going to go to the river and play poo sticks[/STRIKE]
* might go to the pottery cafe with her, depending on how long the shoe expedition takes decided against this. Came home and have been playing in the garden with madam and dolls. She's now playing and I'm tidying the garden a bit
* vacuum downstairs & wash floors
*[STRIKE] load in machine & hang out & another load in[/STRIKE]
* make jam with strawberries - we're not eating them and they are about to perish!
* [STRIKE]stop at L1dl and pick up 3 x quorn meatball offers[/STRIKE]
* paper mache project when we get home & possibly park for an hour
* tidy, vacuum and polish madam's room & clean bathroom
* do something with load of veg
Ok that seems like all of my jobs. I'm thinking about picking all the toms and getting rid of my tomato plants. The weather hasn't been great and they are all looking way past their best
I also hope to go to the allotment this afternoon when oh get home as wellDF as at 30/12/16

I'm thinking of doing the same with my courgettes, DNMS, they are still flowering but the courgettes are getting smaller and start to rot from the flower end if I leave them any longer.
Angela, what birds did you have?
I didn't buy lunch last night so popped into Mr T to look for a cheap lunch option and opted for a YS mini quiche.
I've taken sausages out of the freezer to make stuffing for a roast tonight, not sure whether to cook some YS chicken breasts or just use the YS sliced roast chicken. Decisions, decisions!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Morning all
Just narrowly avoided getting wet while walking the dog. We had torrential rain yesterday afternoon and it looks uncertain again today
I got rid of 2 of my (many) tomato plants yesterday DNMS, as they were looking blighty and OH was going to the recycling centre (I don't put tomato or potato plants in the composter due to fears about spreading the dreaded blight). The others still seem ok at the moment, though it is a terrible year for them.
HK, good luck to your DD, whatever she decides to do
Today's things:
Clean kitchen and dining room
Need to buy more bread and milk today
Check sales unit while out
Check for surveys
Make a crumble with fruit from fridge / removed from freezer yesterday
Some form of eggs for dinner as I seem to have lots that haven't got used
Another dog walk later
Not a very interesting list, will add more as I go along. No watering needed today at least!0 -
Hi Friday Frugalistas,
Busy morning but more to do with getting ready for guests tomorrow than active money saving.
*mr f is off today & volunteered to get the grocery shopping. Much bigger spend than usual due to guests coming but not nearly what we'd have spent in past years. Reduced alcohol spend significantly.
*2 loads of laundry blowing dry outside for free.
*Pulled big bundle of rhubarb which is still going strong despite received wisdom being that it's no good after July.
*Picked 3 more big courgettes, french beans & another punnet of blackberries.
*Shared house cleaning between us using minmal products & washable cloths.
*Threw bread machine in the bin. It had developed exactly the same problem as the previous one. The money saving bit is that I won't be buying a new one. Instead I spent £20 on a sort of silicon tin/shaper gizmo & will use that instead. Bread machine had become little more than a small bread oven as would not mix or knead at all, despite there being nothing wrong with the mechanics. Can only assume a design fault as last one exactly the same.
*Slightly tempted by little trip to village garden centre to buy something to brighten up our courtyard ready for celebrating guest's birthday, but removed clutter instead, moved pots around & hung my home-made bunting up. With a pretty cloth over the table & some tea lights in jars, it will look fine & all the better for being free.
*mr f is doing chicken & home made jacket wedges tonight using the ys chicken portions I got for £1.58. Might pick some rocket to go with it.
Ok. Time for kettle to go on.

Morning all!
We have baby chicks FVD, we've had them since a couple of weeks old. Very sweet!
Well I'm off to a hen weekend this morning, my moneynsaving plans are:
Packed some booze to sneak in so I don't have to pay hotel prices!
Borrowing a smaller car so it's lighter on fuel to get there, and sharing petrol costs with friends.
Borrowed an outfit so I didn't have to buy a new one
Only taking cash so I don't get the urge to use my card whilst drunk
Going to try and be sensible. This is my first time since my debtvfree journey started that I'll be tested whilst away and drinking, eek!
Hope everyone enjoys their weekends!LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -

Freeze some stewed plums
Going to a BBQ. Will take a bottle we already have, will likely not need any food after
Quick shower, hair dry naturally
Quickly flylady of bathroom and kitchen
Payday yesterday so did big money shuffle. Just check again today that it's all ok and make some overpayments
Investigate grinding coffee beans, had a grinder for my birthday and ground some for first time yesterday. Wonder what is the 'right' size or doesn't it matter
