Ah thank you Determined and LaE... wishful thinking on my part that somehow I might have gotten away with it! I'll keep the money aside. Do we know if there is a time limit to when a company can charge you?0 -

I have a local window cleaner too La E, just for the outsides. My house has 3 floors, and my ladder climbing days are over - actually they don't need to do this now, as they use a long handled water brush thing - but I don't have one of those!0 -

Ally - sorry to hear you are fighting the old foe. It too will pass & you will start to feel calmer. Concentrate on those things you can control & try to ride the others out......that's what I'm having to do at the moment. Best wishes, anyway.......& to everyone else who is having a less than lovely time at the moment for whatever reason.

Thanks, Foxgloves. I spent my three days off asleep on the sofa intermittently watching DVDs. I told myself I was just exhausted and that rest would work. But I managed a trip to Morrison's this morning.
My working week starts tonight. I'll probably just lose myself in the busyness that is my work and forget about everything by morning.:)Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Twins - I once had a hotel charge me after 6 months! I called to report fraud on my account as it was a hotel in South Africa and I knew I hadn't been there that month... they looked into it and it was for my stay 6 months before!

Hello Wednesday Savers,
I've been busy with a local political project this morning but have achieved a few bits & pieces on the frugal front:
*A stray end of a ys loaf from the freezer provided toast for breakfast.
*Paid another 50p piece into my sealed pot.
*Finishing up another lipstick by getting last bit of it out with a brush.
*Cat has been on free meals all week due to free box of Whiskas pouches from Waitrose. Mr f was given a voucher witj his till receipt, then I got one on a different day so 24 pouches of free food.
*Recycled large sheet of scrap card into a new moisture mat for worm composter. Free, & works as well as the bought ones.
*Picked more homegrown courgettes.
*Watered greenhouse veg plys cabbages & sweetcorn.
*Last of the 3 meals I made from that pack of turkey mince tonight.....meatballs in sauce with spaghetti.
*Checked ebay. V slow atm. 1 watcher.
*Did a couple of surveys.
*Entered a competition.
*Checked online banking & paid money for Mum's shopping off my credit card.
*Baked a sourdough loaf in my new tin gizmo. If it didn't work, I was going to return the tin thingy but it's looking good - just got to cut it to see.
*Not many steps today but free stretching session with weeding the front courtyard.
*Knit more blanket squares. Got v caught up in 'Top of the Lake 2' last night & didn't knit my planned quota.
*Find new biscuit recipe so I can have an inexpensive tin of something nice for when guests arrive. Otherwise will do hobnobs as a fallback.
Right, must get a shift on.
Love to all......& welcome to Angela84. This thread does help focus me on bei g careful with money after decades of being a naughty spender, so I hope it helps you too.

Morning all :hello: sorry I've been awol a couple of days. Reading, not posting, long work days.
Early one as an early meeting today so I need to be away soon. Just a few things today:
Payday tomorrow, so will straighten my accounts out today so they're clean for tomorrow. We've managed another month where we balance and have a (small) bit left in budget :T
Made lunch for work, take snacks and hot drink for commute
Cheap overnight oats for brekkie
Tea from freezer/planner
Do next weeks planner and write associated shopping list. It'll be small again
Quick shower, hair dry naturally, hopefully before I get to work. The one small advantage of a decent length commute
See if DH going out tonight, if not go out with friend for a walk
Washing on airer or maybe out this afternoon when it stops raining, must remind DH.
Right, must get on. Enjoy your day. Purps.0 -
Morning all,
DS hasn't gone to work again today at the new branch (he didn't go yesterday due to a mix up but no excuses for today) so I fully expect him to lose his apprenticeship now. I despair, just when things seemed to be going right but I've done everything I can, if he's messed up now it's his problem.
I have my interview at Sainsbugs at 11.30, it would mean a massive drop in salary but two free days each week to work on other stuff. Netflix (used by DS) and the boiler service plan will have to go as will the fee for my online portfolio, that will then be my finances down to the bare bones. DS will also be giving up smoking at my expense.
I sold another couple of things on eBay last night so a trip to the post office is in order.
I need to add the woman from the YS run that I'm planning to share a car boot pitch with to my FB so we can organise when we're going to do it.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
