    Afternoon everyone!

Trying to sort stuff out.... where does time go?

    Today I have:

    * Had a workout from home
    * Been to Lidl as primarily wanted kitchen paper but they didn't have any so that meant another stop to Sainsbury's
    * Tried to use the old £5 in the self service machine but it spat it out - I was being cheeky I know but thought I'd try it
    * Move money from Quidco into bank account and into savings
    * Really need to get my back side into fleaBay again... been so lazy
    * Get on Swags and start building the points

That's all, enjoy your day x

Does anyone else find they hemorrhage money in the summer holidays?!? Everything costs so much. Even going to a free park/forest u have to pay for parking. I have to go back to eBay and surveys.

    Good morning everyone
The little black caped crusader that is the kitten is currently happily destroying the house.......current fettish....toothbrushes........and it is always mine she keeps going for:eek:
Banking and bits all checked, one bill paid.
I finally did a tip run yesterday, so happy about that one as we have stuff everywhere at the minute.
Going to get up and out early this morning, stuff to drop off at my mum's, off to a DIY store for final bits-all budgeted for:j:j) and stuff to drop off at the charity shop.
At some point I'm going to buy some storage boxes so when things do go back into the spare room, everything will go back in neatly stored as I've got rid of quite a few bits but there are some I want to keep.
Looking forward to when the decorating will be over......it hasn't even started yet:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Have a great day everyone x

    Good morning,

Thought I'd join this thread to keep me focused on my debt free journey! I've got 5 children and I'm trying to stay focused on having a very cheap summer hols.

    Plan today:
Share petrol costs with a friend for a day out
    Pack picnic and drinks
Visit free park and museum with children
Put dinner in slow cooker for when we get home
Have joined the 'Payment a day' thread and sent £1 to C/C
And have joined this thread too!

Thank all and hope everyone has a nice day

Welcome Angela84 you've come to a great thread, everyone is brilliant, very supportive and it really does help keep you on the straight and narrow, thinking about what you are doing with money. It's got me into a great routine of checking my banking every morning.

    Welcome Angela84 :)

    My list for today:
    Check banks
Ironing :( Only those things that really need it (saves electricity, right? :rotfl:), the rest needs to be folded and put away
See to pots in the front garden
    Water anything that needs it
Pick any produce that is ready
Cook mince and vegetables for stuffing for a marrow that I was given yesterday :)
    Bake stuffed marrow for dinner
    Some cleaning
    Look for surveys
Dog walk later for free exercise (for both of us!)
    Not planning to spend anything!
  • Morning :) welcome Angela84

    Morning everyone!

Agree with everyone that kids being off during summer holidays is burning a hole in the bank balance. They never seem to stop wanting something! I also seem to be going to the shops for more top ups than ever.. these teens are eating me out of house and home. Can't wait until they're back to college.

In other news, we went on holiday back at the end of June. I reserved the hotel with Booking.com with our Barclaycard. On the website it said payment would be taken by the hotel. Well now checking previous 2 statements we can't find that the hotel ever charged us!! The only charges they took was for the additional bill for drinks and meals we consumed but not for the accommodation. I still think this is too good to be true so I'll be calling Barclaycard later to go through the statements again. We don't get a paper statement as my hubby never requested them  Barclaycard did send us copies of the last 2 statements but there was nothing on them... Could the hotel still charge us after a few months?

    Rest of today:

    * One lot of washing on and hopefully dry outside if rain holds off
    * Pop to Tesco for top up shop
    * Complete some swag surveys
    * Do my own nails at home instead of going to the nail place
    * Maybe do a home workout if I have time
    * Call Sainsbury's bank and tell them I'm increasing payments next month

That's all for now! Have a good day :)

    Morning everyone

Wow, such a lot going on with everyone - take care of yourselves. :grouphug:

I'm WFH today - a plasterer was meant to be coming round for the kitchen but he's cancelled on us at the last min twice now so we might just cancel him altogether - well annoying how long this is dragging on

Twins - I once had a hotel charge me after 6 months! I called to report fraud on my account as it was a hotel in South Africa and I knew I hadn't been there that month... they looked into it and it was for my stay 6 months before!

I still need to write that letter for my gp :( Been putting it off.

Can sort round the house as I'm at home - no travel time etc - awesome. :T

Need to try to sort train tickets today - I'm working away, and it's v cheap to get to my parents from there so it would be rude not to, esp with half the train journey on expenses

I did the M&S 3 x meats for £10 then I used my 7.5% discount card to pay. It's awesome - you can get 3 whole chickens on the deal. I got 1, which I'll put in the SC today, chicken escalopes and pork steaks. :T
  • Twins I seem to remember ally posting something about this ages ago and being surprised at how long it can be before they take it. Keep the money aside just in case
