Flying is officially suspended for 48 hours; Cookie has arrived. :D She's a lovely girl, a rescued Staffie, mostly white, with some brindled patches. Hoping it stays nice for walkies later.;)

I hope the essay writing is getting easier, Ionafan. I have a set of minutes to knit - last time it took seven hours.
Very puzzled..........I usually manage to work them out, must be losing my touch :rotfl:

Bathrooms done, kitchen *almost* done, 3 lots of washing, including the base cover from DD car seat which had chocolate all over it and looked like a very unfortunate accident :rotfl: it's just about dry now and will go back on in time for me to collect her later.

Missing parcel (or more likely its replacement) arrived, so that is her birthday stash complete - it was a ballet dress - I just need to think about the cake. DS is making her a card just now.

I have an interview tomorrow with Cruse, so I've printed my CV. Not sure what else I can take. Childcare arranged. Better check where it is...

Think I'll make another coffee, and I want to rethink my desk - I have a metal rack / in tray that annoys the heck out of me. Might swap it for a couple of cereal boxes tarted up :D

I found two pairs of shoes this morning at the bottom of a box of winter clothes that's been sitting in my office for three months waiting to be sorted, down from the attic where it's been for three or maybe even five years. Bonus!

This is the up side of being me/us: rediscovering long forgotten items :D. I find it's like having Christmas all over again sometimes :)

I don't think I'm destined to be a successful flylady :( All the dailies being done (plus washing the bottom of the washing up bowl  )I decided to bite the bullet and hoover the hall, stairs and landing.
The hall and half the stairs are done. I've broken the hoover :( I ran over the flex  DS says the hoover just died of shock at being used :o (which did make me laugh tbf). I'm so annoyed; I was actually enjoying MAD. Trying to look on the positive side: at least I didn't electrocute myself as the fuse box tripped.

Maybe I'd be better with a cordless.... sigh. Feeling thwarted. Mutter. Grumble. Tut.

Spot on Valli, with quite a lot of creative input required. Anyone find when reading minutes that it's not exactly a record of what was said, but rather a sanitised version?

It's funny sometimes once you get going at this flying lark, RountTuit, you sort of get into it. Sorry about your hoover flex - my cordless does a maximum of 20 minutes so I've found out exactly how much that'll do of the house and I absolutely love that. I can do the stairs, or a couple of rooms that are full of grot wall to wall, or skoot around several rooms that aren't too bad. I wouldn't go back to doing the whole house in one go for all the tea in china.

Vast vat of veggie curry made for the freezer and a batch of shopbought triple choc chip cookies baked for OH's return tomorrow. I've had to replace a whole packet of McV!t!es chocolate muck he left behind all temptingly.

No sewing today; it's been non-stop flying and I'm shattered but I've done masses of those little jobs that mount up. All I've absolutely got to do now is sweep the kitchen floor.
    Better is good enough.
  • Hi all. Sneaking back after an absence...I hope everyone is ok and enjoying the summer.
Need fly inspiration, and missing everyone. Life got busy (when is it not), and at the moment due to kitchen renovation I have no washing machine, dishwasher or sink, so things are a pain. It's like camping, I'm washing up in the bathroom sink and hand washing clothes in the bath.
So I've done the dailies today, which take much longer without the labour saving devices, plus HHI. I'm now off to do 15 mins of something before I need to cook.
    Catch you all later x

A successful Flylady is one who keeps trying - (IMO - I'd be interested to hear the opinions of others) the whole point of this thread is that we acknowledge it's a mind-numbingly boring, never-ending job that none of us actually wants to do - so we are here to support each other. So if you try, and if you post then, as far as I am concerned, you're succesful.

My dining room is clean and tidy:T

Totally agree, Valli. It's hard work physically, it's never-ending, it's never noticed and everyone assumes that you do it because you want to. Er, no, I do it because I'd be embarrassed if anyone knew just how much of a slattern I am, and I need the place to look as though someone cares about it because they give me money to stay here. The only thing that makes it bearable is the company of like-minded people on this thread. Well done on the dining room. Mine's covered in sewing gubbins, none of which I've played with today.

Kitchen floor swept, DW emptied and seagull chick chased off again. I stopped feeding it today and it seems to understand that but it's a hopeful not-so-little thing.
    Better is good enough.

Thank you Valli. I'm not giving up at the first hurdle! The stairs that I have done look great - so I have an incentive to get the rest done. I'll have a look at the cost of a new flex.

    Have a good evening everyone
