He he, I like your style Moocow5, but let's aim high!

POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE folks! We will be victorious!
  • Hi! I'm asking a little favour to all you LOVELY compers! As some of you know I have been desperate for a washing machine for MONTHS! As mine has died! I am entering comps left right and centre for cash/washing machine.
I am always days behind catching up on comps, but search specifically for "washing machine" at least once a week.

The favour I am asking is...if anyone spots a competition for a washing machine that pops up in the regular (monthly/weekly) board as I never keep up with those & I know they offer different prizes, or it's that days prize on an advent calender, or if it is posted on the main board with a short end date (1 week away or less) then would you be able to PM me?
I can keep up with the normal ones, just the others slip me by.

    MANY MANY THANKS!
I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!

Out of date Guide to stars :D
  • Hi,
just looking for a bit of advice really, sorry if this is in the wrong place....

a couple of weeks ago I won concert tickets to Rihanna, couldn't go but after lots of messing around managed to rearrange things so I could make it, anyway I had to pick the tickets up on the night, so along I went after paying for childcare and getting drenched waiting around for buses etc, 2 hour trip each way....arrived at the venue and was asked for i.d, the email didn't mention i.d at all, so basically I missed out because I had no i.d. (I'd left my bag etc at home as I don't really like going through Manchester at night and don't really feel safe)
I emailed the people who I won the comp with explaining that I hadn't been able to get into the concert, but they haven't bothered to reply, so last night I sent the same email again.

Just wondering if I should put it down to experience or complain about missing out when it wasn't really my fault, the email did not mention taking i.d or anything, (although looking back I should have thought to take something just in case-but it's easy to say now isn't it).
I just feel let down because we were looking forward to it, I had to pay out for childcare/public transport and then there is the 4 hours of travelling, all for nothing.

    Thank you for reading.

UPDATE: after sending another email, I've had a reply offering me £50 of Vouchers, that'll do me fine.

I would def chase it up, if you wasnt told to bring ID that is a point to argue with, it might help if you could find a number to ring as phone calls are harder to ignore then emails, good luck let us know how you get on :)

£2008 sounds astronomical to me, perhaps we need a decimal point in there for the less lucky amongst us? £20.08 sounds a little more achievable....:rotfl:

2008 is def do able, as someone else has said its about PMA, see my sig :)

If I see anything at all I'll send you a PM :) If a couple of us try to do this then you should have most of the bases covered!

Just hope loads pop up now so you can enter them all :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

My target is to pay for our family holiday in 2008 by selling wins. I like the £2008 challenge though, great idea.

My target is a holiday too Jen. I have only once sold a win, but maybe I should be more proactive this year, rather than just hoping to win a holiday.

Ooh this was exactly what I wanted to ask about.....selling prizes.

I have won a fantastic prize of a spa day for 2 people worth £85 each. To be honest I would like to sell the prize, if I could, and get a really lovely hair cut and a new pair of shoes.

I had a free hair cut last year with a promotion on shampoo and apart from that I cut the front and my husband cuts the back.

I think I will be sent a box with a voucher in to phone up and book a time and place. The closest spas to us are in knightsbrige so it will cost us about £12 for the train tickets so hardly a 'free' prize.

I feel ungrateful but, I didn't deliberately enter the comp I won it simply by using my credit card.

Do you think that this sort of thing might sell on Ebay? If so how should I sell it BIN or auction ?

Any advice, comments ideas would be fab.

    TIA
