What does the Openreach when and where checker say?
From that image, it appears you could be too far from the cabinet. If it was just a capacity issue, then it would show VDSL apeed ranges, but would show as "waiting list"0 -
Can you use the DSL checker from above abd post a screenshot of the result?
Sorry to OP for the Hijack
Now photobucket has gone, I will have to find a new way to post images.
But my address has NO VDSL entries at the top of the table, where as my neighbour does.
Fibre was available to me a year ago.0 -

That said at the bottom of the results page it does say:Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number, NAD, UPRN or Access Line ID (ALID) check.0 -
I've run the check on all my neighbours :rotfl:
We are all on the same cabinet 137, apart from, as I suspected, one old cottage.
I'm nearer the cabinet as far as cable run, and they can all get fibre
I think Sky must have screwed the database when I ended the contract. or can sky have influence on the OR database ?0 -
OP when using the BT DSL checker, did you use your address (house no. & postcode)? This is most accurate. If you did, it doesn't even look like FTTC is available.
If you do the same with your neighbour's house number, what results do you get? Also check at the top does the exchange or cabinet number change, compared to yours?0 -
This could well be a database issue.
Your ISP needs to raise it to Openreach to investigate. If you get nowhere, you might consider contacting the CEO of Openreach.0 -
Well after being very :j at the plusnet prices, I rang them up.
The sales guy was knowledgeable and understanding, but couldn't help so put me through to technical or support. He couldn't do anything on his computer without me being a customer with an accountand wanted to pass me back to the other guy :rotfl:
I now see that plusnet prices aren't that attractive after 18 months, but I like their LRS.
They also charge £50 for a new line.0 -
I just rang TalkTalk and they told me on the phone I could get fibre.
Minimum speed 30Mb
Although I do wonder that the sales just would say anything to sign me up.
I foolishly signed up. Will have to see what happens, but I do think I will be cancelling within 14 days.0 -

What does the DSL checker show when using the address checker?
If it shows VDSL as available, then there should be no problem.0 -
