Lazy day trying to get my head round all the things I need to get done in the house, for me and at work too. Bit yeurgh by the weather and the tier 3 restrictions so need to wobble my head a bit!  2 surveys done so a couple of quid in the bank but not much more to report.

Lots of work to do today and baking with the boy this afternoon as the weather is so dreadful our planned seaside day trip is definitely off.

Looked at finances again today and got a big backdated pay packet on Monday after an error in council system so going to stash as much as I can. Mr D gets paid on Thursday too and he should get a bit extra for overtime which will hopefully see his car through its MOT on Friday - fingers crossed. Side hustle job has started up again so a few £ coming in from that each month is handy too and should mean we are able to bash down the debt a bit more. Hoping to get it out of the way by September next year 5 months before it was due to finish, then focus on slashing the mortgage.

MOT failed, work done £260 down, MOT passed, miserable way to spend £260 though! Need to re-look at the budget tonight to work out where we're up to, had left it all alone while we waited for the car to get sorted so hopefully will have a bit more to stash once I've looked at the figures. Need to update Mr T loan and mortgage too as they'll both have gone down, everything heading in the right direction at least. Side hustle job has a lot to do atm but once that's sorted tonight and tomorrow I can crack on with school and house work and plan so I can get things really sorted before Christmas.
Looking to read and craft more in 2021 so spending some time totting up just how much stuff I have lurking - think it's going to be fairly embarrassing but should mean no need to spend on them till about 2025!

New year, new start. So far so good apart from being locked down, but I suppose this will cut down our spending again. Both of us still working full time plus Mr D has got a lot of overtime recently and a lot of it on double pay so money wise it's still coming in. Need to check up on numbers today and review saving and spending so they balance better. My job is permanent but I'm also aware how tight things are budget wise and I am 'last in' and I wouldn't qualify for any redundancy so if they had to let someone go it would be me. I am trying to stash as much as I can in case this becomes a reality and also trying to keep my professional development a priority which is proving a bit of a task atm. 2021 priority is health and wellbeing so daily exercise and eating better are the key two things - neither of which need be particularly expensive - running/walking and our exercise bike are free and I know how to eat better, I'm just lazy!

Numbers crunched, menu plan done and another load of washing on. Off for a no-spend run later to blow away some cobwebs. Also changing my working week a bit so I am in work earlier and not staying as late so I am in more when it is germ free before the children arrive and not hanging around in it after they've been so should also manage to fit in some runs that aren't all in the dark!

Still cracking on with paying down the debt but got to use up some of the BFF on a big roof repair, it started raining in during the stormy snowy weather and its going to cost a fair bit so we're going to trim back on a few things here and there to try to  rebuild the pot again. Still overpaying on the loan but want that cushion of cash for when we need it. Aim to be loan free by September then it's time to crush that mortgage!

NSD today and in-laws want to give us some money towards the roof so that will lessen the blow a bit!  Made a very healthy veg curry last night and still got 8 portions of it left, banana muffins also made so that's snacks for the week sorted too. Using up soups we've already got in for lunches along with butties and fresh fruit to try and up my 5 to day (to actually get to 5 for a change!) Hoping to get away with a minimal food shop tomorrow once we've made a plan. Need petrol but should get away with a week of NSDs as long as there's enough food in to feed two starving teenagers.

Plodding on, plodding on. Lots of NSDs apart from another MOT today and the roof being fixed in the next week or so. Fingers crossed the MOT and roof don't cost more than anticipated and get done quickly and easily too. More side hustle wages to come in in next few days and have got an extra 6 sessions scheduled in up till summer with the promise of first dibs on any others that come up. Still catching up on the crafty stash but made my way through 2 of the book stash so far.
