Sorted the car breakdown and haggled it at 50% of what they wanted with an extra 3 months thrown in. Would have got it down further but Mr D sometimes has to drive works cars up to Cumbria so he needs a personal rescue plan rather than a car based one as the works cars are notorious for breaking down! Still got a random amount I can't work out for BT but think it might be something Mr D has arranged so that's my next port of call.
Also looked at mortgage and had a chat about changing it to a repayment one or extending the term just so I could have an idea of the figures and they weren't as terrifying as I thought.

Busy doing nothing much but also not spending either. Mr D got paid so shuffled a bit more money around but need to readjust the totals again tomorrow. Still knitting squares but it's been so hot even they've taken a back seat for the last few days. Got a free exercise bike from in-laws so that has saved us from buying one because Mr D wanted us to get one so he can start to lose a bit of weight, so far he's the only one not to have been on it! Still menu planning and eating what we have in which is really helping the budget but we are going to need new clothes for when school starts back as the boy has really grown.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Haircut today and I feel like a human being again and no more grey! Apart from that not a lot of anything going on apart from 20k on the exercise bike. But a NSD apart from the hair.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Had a few really spendy days with an unexpected car repair and an issue with a mouse that needed sorting too. Mr mouse is now living in a nice new field miles away now before he really managed to cause much damage! Pay day tomorrow but a lot of spending to do to get the teen boy back to school with anything that fits him! New shoes, trainers, boots, blazer as a minimum so going to have to really keep everything else as frugal as possible. Plus deposits for the uni teen to sort although grandparents have offered to help out with a few bits and bobs. Got lots of house and school stuff to do to keep me busy and not spending in the meantime.

Paid off some extra on Mr T loan whilst it's pay day this week for both of us. Shoes and boots (PE) bought for the boy so that's a good chunk of money spent in one go. Having a sweet tea to get over the shock as he's now gone into an adult size! Have looked at finances and once uni teen's deposit for accommodation is paid and she's got set up and sorted we should be able to pay a bigger amount over from the BFF account, to really start hammering it down quicker.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Teen's uni accommodation sorted, cheaper than the one she'd chosen but a good 40 minutes walk away from the uni so she'll have to figure bus travel into her budgeting. She's also a real hike from any supermarkets apart from small express ones which is a bit of a pain. Deposit is paid anyway so at least she has somewhere to sleep for the year ahead!

Big payment over to Mr Ts today as we have done so well recently - decided to pay a chunk off in one go and reduce term so it saves us even more in the long run. Still got a way to go but trying to get rid of it by next September if we can then start to bash away at the mortgage. BFF fund has plenty in but trying to hang on to a decent amount as Mr Dora's car is very dodgy and held together with hope rather than quality engineering! Need to update mortgage figure but it's still on the way down so all good. Blanket squares are all done and have stitched all the rows together so just need to get the rows stitched for a visit to the uni teen at the weekend.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
