Payday and child benefit on the same day - it happens about twice a year! Shuffled some more money across to the BFF so it's looking even more healthy. Genuinely not spending much at all atm apart from food and petrol and even the price of fuel has gone down so much it's a lot less than it was before. Got to finish sorting details for student finance today and draw up a plan for stuff I want to get done next week when I'm off, including a few lie-ins!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Busy day after all, got student finance sorted after a few hours wrangling to get onto the site. Updated balance on Mr T loan and mortgage and we've now hit 80% LTV by overpaying since I got us a new and much lower deal. Reckon we can overpay on both now I know my income is fixed for the forseeable to get them both down quicker. Don't want to use up all the BFF fund as we will probably still have more wrangling to do with student finance over the coming months so a healthy cash cushion will really help.

Very windy day here today so plans to start on the garden might have to wait a while or everything will just blow away! Going to work my way through more house and school paperwork instead and then head out for a bracing walk this afternoon. Another NSD.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Lazy few days but managed to get out running a couple of times and get started on the garden/jungle! Decided what I'm doing with it at long last but still trying to keep cost down with using what we have first and replanting stuff rather than buying loads of new stuff. Got to sort car insurance out today, its gone up £120 for no good reason so not paying that and waiting to hear if govt changes rules on MOTs as Mr D's car was due on 9th June, so should have been extended by 6 months but there are rumours it will change this week so he'll have to get it booked in quick!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Sorted out a big pile of papers to send off to Student finances for the teen, their systems can't compute the fact I had 5 jobs during the period they are looking at so had to do copies and a timeline of everything for them! Sorted out car insurance and still no word on MOT so fingers crossed we still get the 6 month extension. NSD as we had everything in for tea and came home from school with a bonus chilli plant, beetroot plants and a huge slab of chocolate cake - not a bad day overall.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Tootled through the rest of the week fairly well. Spent yesterday sorting out the boy's bedroom and building him a new bed and re-arranging everything. He's 13 so time to get rid of a fair few cuddlies and bits and bobs now. He's also had a lockdown growth spurt so had to buy a new pair of shoes! Supposed to be sorting our room today but haven't got very far...Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Not rushing around with enthusiasm today tbh. Sitting here avoiding house and school work and wondering how much we should try to save and how much we should try to bash down our one remaining debt now my wages are secure for the future. I like the comfort of having the emergency fund and the BFF fund & we'll need some to help towards cost of uni for the teen but wondering where the balance is between the two.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

I'm impressed you have a good savings to help your child get started at uni. But once you have/they have their budget for uni, you should be able to see how much you will help every month, transport costs etc, and they you could shuffle some money into your T account - easily halving it and I'm just guessing it would make a great difference on the interest, in particular considering you get close to 0 % on savings! I know you weren't asking for advice, but was just having a browse on site as a distraction from what I was supposed to be doing. Keep up the good work :-)
