It’s hard to tell whether the new survey will be more or less rewarding than it is at present. It looks like we will receive points worth 35p for each item we receive and log and points worth 35p for each batch of items we send (rather than per item). It looks like the presentation packs of stamps might be gone but they do say we should receive 1st class stamps from Royal Mail for every month we are on the panel. Doesn’t say how many, but if it’s Royal Mail sending them, it might be reasonable to assume that the number will remain the same. It’s also not clear whether it will continue to run as a 6 month on/6 month off system or if everyone who applies will be accepted. It does however seem like it’s very much going to be app based, so that might be a disappointment to anyone who doesn’t have smartphones.
I’m thinking this might be a good opportunity to create a new thread for the new panel, so that the links to the Spectos panel are at the very top of the page.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j1 -
I get the impression that Spectos may have some panelists only sending and/or receiving mail - not both.
Still, we will have to see. They are not due to take over until next year.1 -
I have just applied & been rejected. I suspect it was because I said I am a shareholder with Royal Mail. We bought the shares when they became available many years ago But have only kept them for the dividend payments. Shouldn't have been honest!1

I've just had an email asking if I knew anyone in my local area that wanted to sign up to Kantar. Seems odd if they are losing the work.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've signed up using the Existing Panelist option - received an email saying I have been accepted. Apparently next step is a letter in the post with QR codes for downloading the app (I have a feeling this is compulsory with this new panel) and completing registration. I'm wondering what will happen after that though if they are not taking over from Kantar until next year? Would have thought Kantar should be informing us that our service with them is coming to an end soon - my current stint will end around January/February next year, assuming normal 6ish months.

I've sent a mesage to Kantar quoting the Royal Mail announcement and asking these questions. Haven't mentioned my sources but will report back if they reply!
