I’m guessing that as it will still cost £5.16 to buy a book of four, that they have a face value of £1.04, but can anybody find anywhere that its price is clearly stated?

However, I wonder what will happen to the validity of them when the Queen passes on? I’m not trying to be morbid or disrespectful here but given she is 95, it is likely to happen in the not to distant future. I assume the stamps won’t become invalid overnight but will they become invalidated at some point such that hoarding them might not be the sensible thing to do? Any stamps of previous monarchs will obviously now be invalid but whether that was because of their death or the introduction of decimalisation, I don’t know…
So presumably ERII will stay valid for some time - and the NVI will continue to increase face value. After that, it's a guess as to whether they will be more valuable as collectables rather than postage.

On 1st February - Royal Mail will be issuing new stamps: http://commonwealthstampsopinion.blogspot.com/2022/01/2208-new-royal-mail-machins-with-barcode.html (You may have seen the Christmas stamps with barcodes last year).
I'm seeing on other stamp blogs that the larger format of these means that the existing 12x1st book will be replaced by 8x1st. What will happen when Kantar run out of the old 12x1st red stocks? If they send us new 8x1st instead that's effectively a pay cut. The 4x1st will remain available in the new style so we'll presumably be getting two books - an 8 and a 4 - as well as the Large 1st.
Maybe I'll ask Kantar as soon as the new booklets are out....
Are 12 x 2nd being replaced with an 8 x 2nd as well?
I've not done the maths but I'd be happy to get some 2nd class stamps ....
... maybe 12 x 1st could be replaced with 8 x 1st PLUS 8 x 2nd
Thoughts anyone?

Yes - both booklets of 12 will become 8 and booklets of 6 will become 4. (I could be wrong - RM are giving different answers depending on where you ask apparently....)
12x1st is £10.20 and 4xLarge1st is £5.16 so we currently earn £15.36
8x1st is £6.80 and 8x2nd is £5.28 so £12.08 which is a pay rise if we still get the Large 1sts but a pay cut if we get 2nds instead of Large 1sts.
I only use about half of my Large 1sts (I sell the surplus on eBay) so 2nds would be more useful to me.
As pallyman and molerat just pointed out - you can however use them as part payment for parcels or overseas rates so others might prefer to keep the Large Letter stamps.

The 8x1st PLUS 8x2nd was just to replace the 12x1st
I still expected the 4 x 1st Large Letter as well
So overall yes we would get a pay riseThere are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

I would so much prefer 2nd class stamps to the Large 1st class ones. I do use the large ones but I think people think I'm crazy (probably rightly!) when I send all my Christmas cards by 1st class post!
I am grateful for whatever we get though!1 -
I am currently doing the unaddressed survey. They ask if the item is a single page or a multi page leaflet/booklet. Is a single sheet of paper folded over to make it 4 pages classed a a single page or a booklet0

Anyone watched the new "Video tutorials" yet?
There are 3 of them at the moment.
Only the first is what I'd call "instructional" - for new members.
To be honest (as a long time seasoned multiple survey participant) I feel it does make it appear to be rather more complicated than it actually is.
The other 2 are just informational really. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93
