Here's a thought folks...
On 1st February - Royal Mail will be issuing new stamps: http://commonwealthstampsopinion.blogspot.com/2022/01/2208-new-royal-mail-machins-with-barcode.html (You may have seen the Christmas stamps with barcodes last year).
I'm seeing on other stamp blogs that the larger format of these means that the existing 12x1st book will be replaced by 8x1st. What will happen when Kantar run out of the old 12x1st red stocks? If they send us new 8x1st instead that's effectively a pay cut. The 4x1st will remain available in the new style so we'll presumably be getting two books - an 8 and a 4 - as well as the Large 1st.
Maybe I'll ask Kantar as soon as the new booklets are out....I need to think of something new here...3 -
I personally find the Large stamps very difficult to use and would welcome more of the lower denominations. I send a lot of birthday and Christmas cards!1

I have a question about the face value of a large first class stamp. It’s simple, “How much is it worth?” However if I look for the answer, I get all kinds of evasively written tables, charts and texts from all sorts of sources. These tell me that the cost of posting a first class large (of varying weights) has gone up to a minimum of £1.29, but not whether or not the stamps (that I already have) will cover that. Even on the Royal Mail site it says “ The price of a First Class stamp will rise by 9p to 85p and the price of a Second Class stamp will increase by 1p to 66p.
Postage for a large First Class letter will increase by 14p to £1.29. While a large Second Class letter will go up by 8p to 96p.”
To me that states clearly the face values of the actual stamps for 1st and second class, but only what the COST OF POSTING will be for 1st class Large leaving me not knowing how many of the existing stored stamps I have to use for some posting I’m doing.
I’m guessing that as it will still cost £5.16 to buy a book of four, that they have a face value of £1.04, but can anybody find anywhere that its price is clearly stated?

Stamps without a specified monetary value are described as Non Value Indicator (NVI) and are typically first and second-class stamps.
NVI stamps are worth the whatever the appropriate postage rate is at the time of posting1 -
Yes, the longer you keep them the more valuable they become as obviously the cost/ value of stamps rises and inflationary price increases are implemented.1
