Just taken a post bag in and they said just to leave the bag; they didn’t need the manifest. They didn’t even look at it.
Are they meant to be taking it and doing something with it?
There are instructions on the "manifest" which indicate the PO staff are supposed to use it - from memory it includes scanning the code.

Further up this thread there was one PO which expected to receive 2 copies so that they could return one to the poster.  But that too is not what is supposed to happen!

I do use the large 1st class stamps but would be happy with regular second class to the same (or greater!) value.

Can I ask for the response of panelists please?

how many of you ever use the Large stamps they send as reward incentives?
I think I,ve used abiut two of them in the 7 years I've  been a panelist.

i,ve asked Kantar today to run a survey asking panelists whether they would prefer extra first class stamps or even some second class stamps instead as a more useful substitution.  This might mean them having to adjust the cost of incentive rewards but it's also about what we as panelists find the best incentive for continuing with the surveys.

Would  be interested to have everybody's views please.
    I sent this 3 years ago - May 2018

Any chance once in a while the standard monthly rewards offer could be a 2nd class option instead of 12 x 1st class & 4 x 1st class LARGE LETTER stamps please?

    As I see it the current value of these is £12.08 (12 x 67p) + (4 x £1.01)

Whilst I'd obviously not want the value of the reward to drop and just substituting 2nd class in place of 1st on a 1 for 1 basis would provide NO advantage overall, could you think about it please?

Perhaps over 2 months' rewards you could .....

    1st month - 24 x 2nd class  = 24 x 58p = £13.92

    2nd month - 12 x 2nd class LARGE LETTER = 12 x 79p = £9.48

Overall cost would be £23.40 - a saving to you of 76p over the current rewards of £24.16 (2 x £12.08)

OR ALTERNATIVELY AND PREFERABLY (from my point of view)

    the 2nd month should be....

    12 x 2nd class (12 x 58p  = £6.96) AND 4 x 2nd class LARGE LETTER (4 x 79p = £3.16) which equals a total of £10.12

This option would save you 12p over the 2 months of the current 1st class rewards, costing £24.04 (£13.92 + £10.12) and not £24.16

What about it? Any chance? Or something similar?

Only it does seem a real waste given the vast majority of mail that I (and others) send unnecessarily 1st class when 2nd is perfectly suitable and adequate.

This is not solely my idea and viewpoint, many others on an anonymous RM Survey help forum have expressed similar opinions regards a need for 2nd class stamps

    Their reply was

    Hello Q,

    Thank you for contacting us.

I will be sure to pass your feedback on to the relevant team however at the moment we only offer 1st class stamps. Other denominations of stamps are not available.

This may be considered to change in the future.

    Kind Regards,

    Gemma

Thanks for your feedback.   It seems that despite your very reasoned argument, it fell on deaf ears and nothing was done.

Perhaps we all need to try again and provide a more concerted argument.   If they think enough people are becoming discontented with the rewards in their current form they may be tempted to rethink

I use the large letter stamps a lot so am happy receiving them.  It wouldn't make any difference though to me however the stamps came as long as we got the same value.

I think they will only change if they can't get enough people. As they seem to want to make the use of the app mandatory at the post box, those with a PAYG phone will not want the additonal cost so will leave. Often it is the younger people with contract phones and unlimited usage who could afford to use data this way. I can't see them being satisified with stamps as a reward even if they are interested in the survey as they may only rarely use the post as everything for them is instant and electronic.

That may well be the case but i'm a great believer in "Don,t ask, don't get" but "Do ask, Might get" because at least people then know there's an issue which needs to be addressed, even if ultimately denied !

I am resting at the moment but when the next invite arrives I am considering not taking part and definitely won't if the app is mandatory due to the cost of using my phone without recompense.
