First pack arrived this morning, 4x1L & 12x1 + Star Trek presentation pack, normal items +2 RFIDs, no training items.  Easy birthday present sorted as my son is into Star Trek :)
Also had a pop up to take part in a new style unaddressed survey from March 1st.  It came up as one of the random oddball survey messages rather than the usual invites for unaddressed / correctly delivered so might be worth logging in.
  • I have asked to be taken off from sending parcels, as I cannot get to the Post Office at the moment and they said that's fine.  I did receive a cube yesterday - I am fine with receiving parcels at the moment as I'm working from home, but if I have to start working in an office, that won't be a good idea, as I won't be there to receive them and don't want them left with neighbours.  When I'm expecting a parcel, I can leave the porch open, but these turn up unannounced obviously.

I have to return 4 x RFID's but don't have an envelope - do they send them out automatically, or do you have to request one?  The last 2 times I already had one available, so it wasn't a problem.
If they can't deliver a cube out of sight, RM will leave a red card and you can re-arrange delivery for when you will be in (or, in normal times, collect from the delivery office).

Yes I just logged in and got the same message for the new style unaddressed survey and accepted.
  • My sister was lucky enough to get one too.  I got one last week for the same date.  :-)

Not sure you can record the GPS location of the phone (standing at the post box) without having data turned on.
Similarly the "time" (and date) would be whatever the phone is set to and not necessarily even correct let alone closely accurate. My phones only maintain and update the date & time when set to "Automatic Date & Time" (Use Network-Provided time) AND DATA IS ENABLED.
Location can be determined without the need for data to be turned on. I have several apps that record location and time without data. There are many parts of the country where it is impossible to get a phone signal  let alone a data signal. Just ask any outdoor enthusiasts who have apps on their phones for route finding and track recording purposes.

GPS location works based on satellites without a mobile signal, as does car sat navs. My phone uses the network phone signal to determine time. No data needed. There are villages without a mobile signal which are less than 40 miles from the centre of London. I know people who live there.

I presume TNS would rather panellists spend their own money on data rather than they spend money upgrading the app as it reduces their profits.
To interface with post box locations on an "active" map such as Google Maps (or similar) would require them to be available in an offline environment wouldn't it? So you would need to download this map data?

Can I ask which model of phone and your carrier please?
I have a Samsung and a Nokia on '3' and EE.
I noticed the time sometime drifts (slow a few minutes) over a week or 2 despite having  "Automatic Date & Time" (Use Network-Provided time) enabled
Similarly it would NOT "Auto Set" IF I ever removed the battery for instance, the time and date defaulting to something like 00:00 01/01/2001 and having to be set manually - (requiring
Automatic Date & Time to be turned off - date and time entered - and the Auto turning back on again.) - irrespective of leaving them for hours or days for it to happen.

Then I found out that in those circumstances within moments of turning DATA ON - the time & date corrected itself.

Correctly delivered just popped up. First one I’ve caught in months.
