    Just had a result!

Was going to buy tickets for the fireworks on Saturday night but just found out about another local one that's FREE!

Just have to pay £2 for parking :)

Thank you, I should get it into the £7ks in December as there is 3 pay days to come, October, November and December

    £600 x 3 = £1,800

So should get to £7,435 in December (barring any disasters!)

Maybe I should target getting into the £6ks

    Fingers crossed!

Congrats on being debt neutral. If you normally pay £600 and balance is now £8635 you could find an extra £35 to make it £8k at the end of November? It certainly looks like 2020 will be the year to see the end of this debt anyway.

You're right, my plan for November's payday is to pay off £636 and then I'll be at £7,999

Not sure what to do about Christmas shopping, me and husband are meant to be paying half each.

He's yet to give me any money

Done a spreadsheet of who we buy for and what we will spend and it comes to £350 for everything (including our sons gifts) so £175 each

I even said give me half from October's pay and half in November

He got paid on 25th October and hasn't given anything, so looking like he'll have to give me the full amount when he gets paid on 25th November

Come up with the following solutions so far, would be interested to hear others opinions:

    - Not do any Christmas shopping until he gives me his £175, but of course I don't want our son (5), niece (8) and nephew (5) to have no presents from us on Christmas day

    - Tell him to do the shopping and I give him my £175, risk here is he doesn't bother (but doubt he'd be that bad to not get his son anything)

    - The bulk of the cost is our sons presents (total £200) so get him to buy those and I do the rest. I'd give him £100 towards our sons of course

    - Think sod it and just do all the shopping, resigning myself to the fact I wont see a penny from him (and maybe I'll just put my name only on the tag!)

Buy as much as you can with your £175 and leave his side of the family until he has coughed up his half. Send him a shopping list and how much it will come to, ideally around £175. I don't see why he should get away with not doing any shopping as well as letting you foot the bill for the whole lot.

I would also remind him and say you are doing the shopping so need him to cough up.

    Thanks ES

His side of the family is:

    His mum, £35
    Nephew 1, £15
    Nephew 2, £15
    Niece, £15

So that only adds up to £80, plus what if he doesn't get them anything?
