  • I paid another £560 off the credit card yesterday

    Debt
    Virgin £9,835

    Savings
    S&S ISA £7,200
    Easy Access £1,000

    Current Accounts

    Halifax £69.66
    Nationwide £406.32

The money in Halifax is for food until 25th September, not sure it'll last that long but can always transfer some over from Nationwide

I might try and pay some more off the credit card this month but I need to buy my son a new bed and mattress.

The bed he likes is £180 in Argos plus whatever a new mattress is
  • Just reading back through my debt diary and 12 months ago I owed almost £15,000 on my credit cards

    Today I'm at £9,838
  • Had an email from Argos saying if you spend over £120 with them online, on 1st November they'll email me a £12 voucher.

    Offer expires on 24th September

I don't normally get sucked into such things but as that's where Im getting sons bed & mattress from anyway I might as well go ahead and order them and when I get the £12 voucher it'll go towards Christmas

Bed & mattress cost £283, will take the money from my savings account.
  • Just worked out that to clear the credit card before any interest is charged I need to pay off £615 a month

This will clear it in December 2020 (0% ends in January 2021)

As my diary title says it'll be at £0 by 2020 I've got to stick to it :rotfl:
  • Had a bit of a result with Argos

    Looks like I'll be getting 2 x £12 vouchers

Im guessing because I spent £283 that's spending over £120 twice

AND I went via Quidco so I've £9 cashback to come in February 2020 :rotfl:
  • Good news that the credit cards have been reduced such a lot over the last year. It would be great to get rid of it by the end of next year. Under £10k at least.

Thank you. Might be able to get under £9k in October but will need to pay off at least £836 to do it.

I'm planning to buy a couple of Christmas presents in October

Plus me and my son are going to a friends house for a Halloween party, wont cost anything except getting my son a costume but have seen one for £5 in asda
  • My payslip is now available ahead of pay day on Monday, reducing the childcare vouchers means I now take home an extra £132 a month
  • I've got £50 cashback on Quidco that is ready to withdraw, not sure whether to keep it there for a bit or withdraw?
  • £100 left in my personal account until pay day on Monday, need to spend £45 tomorrow on my MOT

Might need to put £10 petrol in

Then its my nephews birthday on Sunday so need to get him a gift, seen some lego for £15
