What a shame about the sewing stuff CBC. I think I'd have binned threads but I might have considered giving fabric a soak in the tub and then washing at a high temp, but then after paying for extra laundry soap and the extra leccy for the machine you'd probably not make enough back for it to be worth it"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Slow day for me today. I've been incredibly busy at work, so not much chance to do anything unfortunately. Cashed in on Qmee to ensure today hasn't been a complete failure. On the plus side, I haven't checked my work tuck shop for a few days, so expecting a few £££'s in there tomorrow.

Had to laugh as well CBC - but does this actually mean he may be developing an interest in decluttering or was he just trying to lull you into a false sense of security ?
Brilliant to see all the amounts totting up   I was screened out of every survey I attempted today
Hope none of you were caught up in all the flooding today and that you all have a super Thursday

Well, I'd hardly call it an interest:rotfl:. I think he's been shamed into making a bit more of an effort after seeing me constantly running myself ragged trying to get rid of my stuff.
I had to laugh when he came in from the garage this morning after sorting out a box of pages that he'd saved from newspapers. He handed me a yellowed page that he thought I'd be interested in. It was a write up of several new car models that were just coming out that year and my current car was one of them, it was one of the big things that year. I've had mine since 2005:o. He hadn't saved the paper for that, he was thinking he might buy one of the other ones at the time, it was merely coincidence mine was on there. The paper was dated 2001:eek:.
When I incredulously asked him why he'd saved it he just said he'd never got round to sorting through that box and throwing stuff out :rotfl:. That's how it is with him, I've an uphill battle;)0 -

I wondered about the fabrics but they weren't the ones I'd hoped I might get a lot for. They were still nice though but I could see nibble holes in the top layers so I thought it best to just dump the lot. As you say, probably not worth the cost and effort of washing and ironing them. It wasn't a massive boxful, it was mostly embroidery silks, tapestry wool, dressmaking patterns and that sort of thing but they were in a heck of a mess and I didn't fancy trying to salvage anything:o.0 -
Will have to have a tally up but only made dribs and drabs money wise.
Finally I listed on ebay, only small value items that I will make a little on, if it sells but i'm giving it a go. Got more to list to use up my 100 free listings so I must do it before the end of the month.

I love hearing people's tales too. Mice can be a nightmare. Years ago they chewed and nested though our garage and destroyed thousands of pounds worth of rock climbing and snowboarding kit....they also stored all their peanuts, stolen from our bird feeder! In my husbands motorbike exhaust...when he fitted it for an MOT he shot blasted the house like a machine gun with peanuts and the bike smelled like peanut butter for ages!
Some of my eBay items sold and I have £410 to add from that. I kept a bit back to pay fees and postage... More still listed so fingers crossed.
I am sad though as I loved my camera kit... But needs must.
Also the bank of dad has provided me £40 to treat the kids. So we are going camping / hiking for a mini holiday...
I'm off to the tip today to try and source items for DIY in a bid to stop spending all our cc balance in DIY stores! Much to the kids disgust...
My balance is going up and up... And now I have paid off cc#2
Hope everyone else is having a good week. Let's get that clutter gone!

Good luck in finding something useful:beer:. You're very fortunate if you are able to acquire items from the tip:T. Ours has signs up everywhere threatening people with all sorts of penalties, falling just short of a firing squad:eek:;), if anything is removed from the site. It's a real shame that so much that is potentially useful to others is just tossed.
