I agree with less clutter making cleaning easier, Lynne:T.
The things I just can't bring myself to throw away are empty boxes and packaging that looks as if it might be useful when posting sold items:o. You wouldn't believe how much of this sort of stuff I've hoarded. More often than not the boxes are completely the wrong size though:(. Parcelling stuff up to post it is always a frenzy especially if I have a lot to do at once and I end up bad tempered and with a headache:o. My Grandma was one for saving every piece of string she ever came across. I don't do that, mainly because I never seem to get anything tied up with it these days and haven't much use for it if I did. OH on the other hand saves every single thing that might one day have a use, although it rarely does and even if he wants it again he can never find it:rotfl:0 -
Just submitted my online meter reading to Scottish Power and they immediately messaged me that my monthly DD is going up by £2:eek:. Not a massive amount I know but we've hardly had anything electrically power-heavy on for months and the bill always goes down in the summer months anyway. Not a happy bunny and to make matters worse OH has just got home with 2 bulging carrier bags of 'junk' that he bought at various stalls at a mini car boot sale in the field where the car display was that he's been at:mad:. As if he hasn't got enough clutter already!:(. He says they were charity stalls and he felt sorry for them. I can't count the number of times I've told him to just give them a cash donation and leave whatever they're selling on the stalls.
Sorry, everyone. Rant over:o0 -

Another couple of eBay sales for me takes me to £122.63! Thank you all for all the ideas and chatter. I had no idea there were so many ways to make extra cash. My Christmas shopping fund is looking much healthier (I have spent some of it already tho!)
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Good luck for the rest of the month!x0 -
£29.43 from eBay sales
£259.76/£155
I have hit my selling limit of 20 items a month so can't list anything else now.
Hope everyone had a good weekend x0 -
Well done on the decluttering Aesop. Inspired me to scour round my house again and sort out a few things. I spent what seemed like hours listing a few book collections that I know I won't read again on eBay.
I now have about 31 listings on eBay, but not sure any of them are really going to sell, so might have to think of other ways to sell or give them away. On that note - I have a nice pair of mens smart shoes only worn once, but not much interest on the Bay. I don't have much experience with mens shoes - should I be looking to sell elsewhere?2025 decluttering: 5,000 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟2025 use up challenge: 362🥉🥈🥇💎🏆Mini freezer challenge +4/-20Big kitchen declutter challenge 120/1502025 decluttering goals I Use up Challenge: 🥉365 🥈750 🥇1,000 💎2,000 🏆 3,000 👑 8,000 I 🥉12 🥈26 🥇52 💎 100 🏆 250 👑 5000 -

My DH has big feet so his only worn once shoes sell well.
Try shpock if you have a smartphone but make it very clear in your ad, that if people want it posted they pay for recorded delivery or courier costs. And specify very clearly your location.
Gumtree is another one you can try.
There is a new site called mercari. Not yet got around to signing up to that one.0 -

So were always going to hike their prices up. It was in Martin's newsletter. £24 a year isn't as bad as some people are going to get hit. But I would still be looking around to see if you can get it any cheaper cbc.0 -
Aesop, I think you should hang onto those school books, especially if he's already sentimental about them, you'll never get them back again!
My DS loves looking through the two big boxes of his stuff I've saved but I am very sentimental, I still have his umbilical cord (it looks like a bit of beef jerky and smells worse)
They've gone for recycling already. I had to.
He would hold onto everything from infants to high school if I let him. Yes I am sure he will find it fascinating when he is older how his handwriting developed, how everything was based around Timmy time, sponge bob, you tubing and Minecraft lol.
Seriously, we have to move and we can't be taking loads. DH hadn't even cleared loft ike he keeps promising.
Ds is very sentimental about teddy's, clothes, toys etc. I don't have a mansion for everything he wants to keep. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
