Best of all come on here and brag about what you've saved/made and pick up other ideas
Made a lucky killing on the amazing site today. So today I ordered a few things and, after searching round the site for about an hour, finished up with discounts of £72.41 - I could hardly believe it :j :j

amazing well done!!! wonder if you qualify for a Mr Badger badge0 -
Not much money to add to total but have also signed up to Shoppix and Shopmium as suggested by Aesop and have also looked at the ink cartridge site suggested by Talia1 and it appears will be worth me sending off to printercartridges than sending for Tesco points. I've also put all my referral codes on the MSE thread. Today I will declare:
2nd August
£3.00 Reward from Halifax
Thanks for all the inspiration everyone!Goodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

I don't do the tesco points with that site, I found they offered something like 5 points for a cartridge which is nothing when added to your tesco account, cash value much better for me.0 -
On the subject of saving money I got away with not paying for parking today - it wasn't deliberate, honest!
But with my new focus on making extra money/saving it I was strangely delighted!
To anyone thinking they are off to a slow start -- we all have days like that I think - I'll annoy myself if I keep coming on here to say I've done so well
I'm also doing the thing where I'm recognising more when I'm not spending money - my friend bought me a scone and a cappuccino the other day - I was beside myself with contentment at this -- I think I need to get out more!
Cheers all - good luck smashing targets, the month is young xx0 -
#3 Swagbucks
This is a very popular site with moneymakers everywhere. The site is based in the US but there is a UK version. We get daily challenges which if you achieve gives you bonus swagbucks the next month.
You can watch videos, play games, run apps that have videos, complete surveys and sign up for offers. You can even shop online and earn swagbucks.I use it for argos. I reserve and collect, after clicking through swagbucks shop and then a month later, I get my swagbucks for shopping at argos.
You can cash out for paypal uk or amazon vouchers uk. Make sure you select UK or if you are in US, leave as amazon.com.
I usually cash out £5 but you can cash out at more. There are also £3 amazon vouchers available.
If you follow swagbucks on twitter or facebook, they have competitions and bonus swagbuck codes.
But there is a dedicated swagbuck thread so you don't miss out on codes, although they are usually only valid for an hour.
You can redeem for other vouchers, I know they introduced M and S, but amazon and paypal tend to be the favourites.

but a mini challenge for those who ebay.
Try and list at least 5 things on ebay today. BIN or auction, upto you.
I prefer BIN these days as seem to sell much better and you aren't waiting for auctions to end on a Saturday and then can't post until Monday.
Let's get going. I will have a mini challengers posts, so post your interest and we will see how we have all done by tomorrow and what we manage to sell by the end of the month.
I've been giving your mini eBay challenge a bit more thought, Aesop, but I'm confused. Doesn't take much does it?:o
The challenger's list has a number, such as 5, after people's names whereas others say TBA. I assumed when you first posted the challenge that it was just for that day as you said to try and list 5 things 'today' (Tuesday). I bet I'm making this as clear as mud aren't I?:o I'm thinking now you meant list that amount of items (5 or whatever) every day.
I was just checking music cassettes on eBay before deciding whether to bin mine as even the charity shops don't want them any more:eek: and was amazed to see that some similar ones to those that I want to get rid of have been selling recently:j. Most of them not for much but one or two like mine have fetched decent prices. Cheap and easy to post so might give them a go.
Am I too late to join the eBay mini challenge if I get listing by the weekend and please could you clarify the 'rules' to a dimwit like me? I'm not going to win any eBay challenge on profit made but at least it will be unwanted items finding a new home.0 -
Just wanted to say I've not made a single penny so far this month:( so massive congratulations to everyone who has got off to a brilliant money-making start:T:j.
A big welcome to the new people who've joined us this month. Good luck to you all:beer:0 -
I love your house. Carbootcrazy. You always have interesting saleable items.
The challenge was originally for that day to see how much people could get listed and how much it all went for.
But as people were saying would list another day /weekend, I left it open TBA, so when listed they could go on. Would be interesting to see how much is made on those 5 items by end of August. Mine are on bin for 30 days.
And yes you can most definitely join in.
I still remember that night you listed loads, and loads sold on Ebay, you were up most of the night wrapping for posting.
That was a good eBay day0 -
Just catching up at the end of my holidays! Anyway, while we were away Hubs and I had a big, erm 'discussion' about the amount of carp in our house! We are hoping to move next year and he thinks that we should cut our losses, bin everything and redecorate minimalist, so I have stupidly said that I can sell loads and make us £500 this summer hols!! Why did I not keep my big procrastinating mouth shut??
So I guess that is my target!! I can never normally manage the tenner a day!! Aesop, please kick me to both post and list stuff on ebay!!
However - I do have £5 amazon from swags and veiwerslogic to add, and 7 things listed on ebayso good start from me considering its hols!!:T
