I suppose schooling for DS is a major consideration or are you hoping to find somewhere nice but still within reach of the same school (if he's happy and settled there)?

Sorry, I'm asking a lot of nosy questions today:o but I'm really interested as well as doing my bit for the 1000 posts challenge;).

he will be staying at same school. he is in last 2 years when he goes back in september and he was very upset leaving infants and friends behind. Don't want even more upset. He knows the school and it's ethos and teaching methods, and has lots of friends. So easier to keep him there. x

Eek.. when I subscribed to this thread I accidentally clicked the option which notifies me every time someone posts... needless to say that I am inundated!!:rotfl:

Anyway... I am trying not to panic too much about my high target for this month, but get actively doing whatever I can. I got really confused with payout levels for survey sites and just realised I was over that for Panelbase so requested my payout (will add that once I receive the cash).

Otherwise, doing ok so far today:
    Citizenme £0.10
    Cashback £4
eBay sale (yes already from one of my listings from last night that I put on for a price which I thought was a bit high!) £18.

Already got £25.58 so in theory another £4.42 for this afternoon would put me right on track! :o

Aesop, I would say it's rubbish that you have to move, but actually maybe it's a good thing for you location wise and a good excuse for a clear out.

I don't mind moving.. just hate all the stuff that goes with it (aka actually doing the moving...). Last time I moved I bought for the first time so not planning to move anytime soon and potentially never! Just need to pay down my scary mortgage....

Yes I turn on all posts, but it turns itself off and I don't always get notified. I need it though.

well done on ebay sale, that's amazing.
  • We intended to move once upon a time but are still in the only house we've ever had for over 40 years:eek:

We put it up for sale about 5 years after moving here as it's such a dead backwater and we both had long commutes for work (in opposite directions so double the petrol costs:(). Houses were taking literally years to sell out here and we planned to move to a suburb of the nearest town. I'm not making it up when I tell you that the same day that the Estate Agent put the For Sale sign up a man cruising likely locations drove by, asked for a quick look round, asked the price (obviously details weren't yet in the Agent's window etc and it was long before the internet had been invented:rotfl:)) and said he'd come back that evening with his wife. They did and immediately said they'd buy it:eek:. They had sold theirs and weren't in a chain and had their hearts set on a home in the country. I thought they were bonkers:rotfl:

Trouble was, we hadn't even started looking for one to buy as we fully expected we'd have months and months before anyone wanted ours, if ever:eek:. We went out every single evening after work plus weekends looking for somewhere to buy and just couldn't find anything we'd move for. Country properties in those days were really cheap as opposed to suburban/town ones and anything we were remotely interested in was way beyond our financial reach:(. We'd have been swapping a detached 4 bedroom place (albeit pretty basic) with half an acre of garden for tiny place with a postage stamp sized garden and on-street parking.

We were fast nearing the completion date and in the end we had to pull out of the deal which upset us but there was no alternative. We're still here to this day although we both regret not making the effort to make a move away at some time during those years.

  • Thank you for the info on selling my dvds! I had a look but either the companies aren't buying the ones I have right now or I know my other half won't let me sell them! I'll try again another time tho!

I had my first sale on gumtree which is very exciting, I'm finding it very addictive and have been listing again today! So that's the first £10 in my pot. I also had £1 cash back confirmed on quidco from ages ago. Total so far £11 / £150! Xx
