I’m terrible at crafty type things and sitting down. If I sit down I inevitably fall asleep 😴

i mostly hate shopping, live 5 miles from stupid market, and work from home so generally delivery is simplest.

busy being tempted by 'knit your own over sized merino cardigan kit for beginners'. Need something for my 'not so nifty' big birthday next month, but my track record with crafts and projects is very poor. I think I bought the latch hook rug kit with my 19th anniversary of 21 money and haven't finished it yet. I can do basic knitting but am rubbish at sitting down outside of work.

@redofromstart you are not alone! I have fabric bought when my daughter was a baby to make into darling little frocks.  It's still in the drawer and she's 19 in a matter of days! Humdinger xx

Maybe Mr Redo should finish the rug for you?
  • Oh no, he would make my half look rubbish. I stopped doing it because the boys kept wanting to 'help' and the then puppy wanted to chew the end. One day I will finish it. You just need to be neat, no skill involved.

We visited local small town this morning where there is a small not quite Woolworths in the old Woolworths store.  4 balls of super chunky and some large knitting needles have been purchased, with the vague intention of making me sit down in the evenings.  At least I have spent some of my Christmas money from my generous parents on something sensible.  I can basically cast on and off, knit and purl and am rubbish at patience so it may end up as scarf or a cowl.  There seem to be a lot more free patterns available which is a good thing, and the knitting magazines on Libby may help.

I could have used my existing small needles and the wool I purchased to make baby jumpers for the DS (now 19] but where is the fun in that? Probably long since eaten by mice.

I love knitting 😊 But you need the time for it. You are budging me into picking up my tapestry again 😊

  • I have had yet another nasty cold so no progress on knitting.

I did accidentally slip and buy a longline v neck jumper today. Whoops.

  • Think of the jumper as an investment 🤭 I do like longline ones so they don’t ride up when you sit down!
