I solved that particular mystery by ensuring I only had the one bottle in. At the time, it seemed like a supremely stupid thing to have done, however, on new year's morning the then current me was deeply appreciative of past me's forethought...

That's an interesting idea and I am sure your future self was very grateful. My future self mostly hates me to be fair.I foolishly bought enough (on offer plus 25 off) to get me through a sticky week at work and then ten days off, only then I had man flu and didn't eat or drink much for for a week or so. I want it used and gone ahead of a focus on fitting in a dress for a family event in the summer.
tonight we had a madhur Jeffrey spicy chickpeas recipe from the old school eastern veggie book. Mr Redo approved although I wasn't keen as I don't really like chickpeas, garlic or cooked tomatoes. One to make again and freeze in man sized lunch portions. Might fritter a few pounds on the dried mango powder to make it properly. There are other veggie recipes in the book that I want to try, and when I did the stupid market order Iforgot I had the veg box so there is a lot of £ to watch rotting if I don't at least try to inflict it on others.Tomorrow I have many mushrooms and tired Stilton to use. The Pirate Operators ferries used to do a lovely Stilton bacon mushroom starter that was an annual start of holiday treat, and, given that we will never use them again due to their abhorrent treatment of staff and ignoring of employment law, I think something along those lines would work well. No bacon left (as rare as eggs locally atm), but I do think I have some gammon scraps hiding in the freezing for pea soup that should work.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Finally got round to doing my tax return, which will generate a small refund for my business mileage. Makes a nice change. Also claimed some cash on tcb.I dropped the offspring off in the city for a cinema trip (because the buses are useless @rriva) and called into MrM on the way back, nothing in the sales at all, but spotted some really lovely thin china bird large cups. I got a wren, blue t*t, and a robin. Really pleased with them. At £4.50 each they would make a nice present prettily wrapped with some chocolates inside. I have no intention whatsoever of giving mine away, I will hug them and kiss them, and fill them with coffee for the rest of their working lives. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Ooh those cups sound pretty...this means that I must resist going near a MrM for the foreseeable until I can be confident that they will have sold out...
Mango powder is wonderful stuff - adds a fabulous slightly sweet & sour edge to all sorts of curry type dishes.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

and then I spotted cyclamen patterns on emma bridgewater... I am resisting.
First day back at work. Is it Friday yet? The co-op obliged with some eggs (6 medium/£1), and half price long dated bacon so we promptly had bacon, egg, beans and chips for dinner instead of the many portions of nice curry/chilli that I portioned up yesterday.
I frittered on a Yeeow catnip thing for my babies. Mr Fluffy trousers has the Louis Wain whizzy circular eyes after his snorting session (somewhere in a field in Hampshire, but he's ok, he's all sorted out for Es and Whizz), tiny cat is sat in the (wet with dribble) amazon envelope and the evil ex stray is rolling around the floor threatening to take a limb of anyone who takes his pink cigar away. Little cat dribbled for a bit and left. Mrs Brady Old Lady rolled her eyes at their stupidity and asked if there any of those cat nip dreamies left as she prefers to eat her share. Money well frittered I think.

Mine love to have a smoke of their yeoww cigars. I have a tub of pure cat nip, so give them a dip to refresh them every now and again 😁 (I mean the cigars, not the cats). Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
