I'm very resistant to being told what to do too...1

Yes - this!! And equally resistant to being "guilted" about things, too!Alchemilla said:I'm very resistant to being told what to do too...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Where does the time go? I have been busy with work again so haven't had time to post.
Update:
Money
No PB win for me. Moving the 10% overpayment to the mortgage account took £25 off the interest paid, and reduced the interest earned on the savings by £5. Pay day happened and money was shuffled about, not a lot left afterwards due to high spend month with materials and tools. Joined in the collective intake of breath at the new predicted fuel bill.
House
The shuffling round of rooms and equipment is to facilitate the start at the back door and work in approach. He has nearly finished the cloakroom and then will be freshening the kitchen. Dining room after that - which needs stripping out, beans exposing, plastering, etc. The weather might drive a move to outdoors though where he has a front door to replace, walls to build, a lintel to repair and quite possibly replacing the guttering and fascias. Along the way we exited many things and the house feels clearer and emptier as a result. 'Would we pay to store this? Would we pay to transport it when we eventually move?' feel like a repeated mantra at the moment. Effective though.

Sounds like DH has plenty to keep him occupied! Great news on the decluttering. It'll make things a lot easier.4

It is very inspiring to hear about your decluttering. I must get to it!3

Our house is a converted barn - Victorian conversion of a much older building. It was bought by the previous owners late 50s, when the fashion was to cover up the original features. Avocado bathroom, boarded over beams etc. Our mission is to free up the original features. When we moved in we found out that the bath overflow went into the boxed in dining room ceiling, when on week two I came home from work to find out that the false (chipboard) panels had collapsed. The original black beams survive (good job as they hold the top floor up) but we want to remove the false panels and make the beamed ceiling a feature again. I love this house, just not the location any more as the village becomes of a city suburb, I dont grudge anyone the affordable housing, it just isnt where we want to be.moving_forward said:You have been busy. When I was 5 or so there were not enough seats left for return of the Jedi, so My Dad took my brothers to see that, and my Mum took me to see the borrowers a few months later. I have never forgiven them, although I did own a first edition borrowers book for a bit.WinterWarrior said:
