Pot roasted not poached. Thinking faster than I type.
Nothing much achieved over the weekend which is always a frustrating waste but too windy outside and too overcrowded inside as the cats refused to be out.
Yorkshires made and the spares frozen (the recipe and method from Jane Grigsons book). My Yorkshire's don't always work but these were spot on.
i converted an expiring clubcard voucher to pay for the delivery pass and credit the extra back which is sensible but dull. Not a lot of options if you don't want to travel or read hard copy magazines.
we had a mooch round tk max, dunelm and hobbycraft but wasn't tempted to part with cash. Mr Redo suitably cross that I haven't found anything for him to buy me for my birthday this week. I do dislike buying things for the sake of it and all comes out of the same pot anyway. Bar of co op chocolate again this year. The single origin millionaires shortbread one is very nice.

We don't bother with gifts for each other as all money joint. We just have some extra pocket money to spend as we like.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

You're not wrong about the CC vouchers now - last time I looked even the railcards had gone! I've got a couple of soon-to expire ones that I think we're going to convert to P1zza 3xpress vouchers - seems like the best option!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Interesting to read the feelings about oldstyle. At its best it is inspiring and educational, as you say though, it can come over preachy.3

I have today and tomorrow off hurrah, and am spending them decluttering. Mr Redo is trying not to hyper ventilate, and has fixed both old Dysons so I can't exit them which is a result for everyone.
@Alchemilla I learned so much on Oldstyle, even though my mother was always properly thrifty and taught me well. There can be a very occasional hard core though of 'you buy kitchen towel (even though you can afford it) therefore you are a wasteful monster of depravity' which is hard when you are new to the boards. I place value on my time, and mental well being as well as on the actual pennies that are spent and I am really very resistant to being told what to do.
An old story, many years ago it took me over 100 expensive driving lessons to pass my test. It was pointed out that this was perhaps because the (very nice) man was telling me what to do, and couldn't I just listen given what I was paying for the privilege.
