Oh wow I do the stuck in traffic thing too. Tonight i got stuck by a house on my route home with beautiful borders. Full of topiary shrub balls and i wished id been stuck longer.
I cant wait to start sowing my cycamwn seeds. I ordered a mixed pack as i couldnt choose between the varieties.
I get carried away when out on walks with friends chatting away about plants and wondering what this plant is or that shrub.
Btw you should be proud of your snowdrops. It's the small things that give pleasure yet we get into debt chasing the big things we dont need and cant afford.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓

redofromstart said:Sorry! They are in my top five plants though and they were all free. I always share them too, happy to give anyone a few hundred. I think I have forced trays full on everyone I know locally. Shocks me what they charge for them in the green. I went past a house recently where the drive to the road was solid self seeded cyclamen. My kind of gardening. Was v grateful for traffic jam and wanted to knock and say how much I had enjoyed them.
the ones I've had are getting going, but I have lots more space to fill...

@greenbee, will do, I've got to the embarrassment of riches stage and I want to share as many as I can in case I need some back in a few years.
@moving_forward I've not tried them from seed, typically it was a tray from my Dad that 'took' and self seeded and I am slowly slowly cultivating them. They don't spread as quickly as the snow drops but they do come up with some interesting variations. Same with the hellebore.

A further note to something said above - when noting down pain levels use the 1 - 10 scale as this is understood by medical professionals across all specialities.
Loving all the plant chat - I might have to go and get some cyclamen to plant now and see if they'll spread! we have lots of bulbs starting to appear at home now which is definitely making it start to feel like spring, albeit it I worry that we've still got weather to come and they won't survive it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Mr Redo only gardens with a chain saw. I think he got wise very early on and occasionally chops down something I like to remind me that he can't be trusted unattended in the garden. It's a very cunning plan.
@EssexHebridean absolutely buy some cyclamen, if the space is right they will thrive. They generally die because they are planted too deep, or because you forget they are there and dig them up. My original standard garden seed tray from my Dad is maybe six foot square of congested tubers in a mostly damp shaded area and as I take a tray out to gift them, they refill the space by the next season.
Im doing better with cuttings than seeds, OH made me a chest height raised sand tray with shade netting last year and, apart from the inevitable cat issues, it has been a real success for semi ripe cuttings for the investment of some recycled wood and a few bags of sand/alpine grit. the wisteria has had an impressive offshoot that is now three years old, one to split and pot on ready for when we do eventually move.

@EssexHebridean worth keeping an eye out for MrM and their 99p plant of the week which is sometimes cyclamen, plant it out once warmer and it should pay off.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Sadly I rarely get anywhere near a MrM - we don't have one in the town nor is there one anywhere massively convenient for work - it's a shame, it is by far my favourite of the supermarkets and I'd transfer allegiance in a heartbeat if we had one closer!
I have a bit of a history of managing to "weed" plants - so will need to be mindful of where I put anything!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Catching up with you redo - I do hope you manage to sort out your dietary problems - must be so debilitating and frustrating.
Jealous of all the plant talk - I haven't got a garden at the moment and not much space indoors for plants. Another reason for buying a small house and not a flat when I move in a couple of years time......
