Worth checking - mine gives me Press Reader, BorrowBox and RB Digital. Had to register, select the county, add the card number and PINMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Its such a shame, I had this happy vision of introducing my boys to my favourite books and it just never happened. OH reads, I read constantly, and the house is overflowing with books in every living area. They mostly didn't read. DS1 infamously said, aged 7 or so, that all fiction is just a bunch of lies written down. I'm glad he has found some fiction he wants to read, and profoundly grateful there are many books and several authors that he wants to work through. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Congratulations on your contact becoming permanent.
My DS1 used to read a lot of fiction until he discovered computer games and the internet. DS2 and DS3 never read books as children, but now they're grown up they read a lot of non-fiction and DS3 reads some fiction occasionally. So perhaps there is hope yet. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Reading habits definitely change over time - at least they know reading is there, redo. I love my library app too, by the way, though its gone a bit odd recently as they had to change provider. I'm astonished at the free magazines I can read2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Nearly payday, hurrah. Quite looking forward to the money shuffle although a little bit of spendiness has crept in with the guaranteed income excitement.
2 knee length old lady button up merino cardigans at £24 each arrived, lovely and warm but strictly working from home wear. More attractive than elderly fleece dressing gowns, but only marginally so. Its a good job we don't do video conferencing. I exited a few more cardigans to the charity collection on my 'one in one out' rule. Must resist any more wool based purchases. My inner old biddy is definitely winning again. I have high hopes of them stretching in the wash and keeping my ankles warm.
I've lost my cooking mojo again, made a really rather revolting from scratch beef redang that was fit for the bin so I am back on the old favourites. Tonight is the new Monday special of jackets, beans, cheese, sausages and variations thereof. It is surprisingly popular with the ravenous mass, and I at least eat some of it.
Today I ordered dry cat and dog fud to run till after the festivities so that is out of the way.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

You should see me when I work from home, no make up, oldest comfiest jeans, old top, and if it's cold my dressing gown over it all. We do meetings via Teams, good job I don't switch the video onI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

My "standard" on arriving home of an evening is PJ's on with an ancient, disreputable but deeply cosy hoodie over the lot. In fact, on non working days, that is frequently my standard to start the day also.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
