I am slightly hampered by the bit where I have to drop off and collect boys from school and the neighbours see me walk down the drive. Mind you I went out in my dressing gown as an extra layer (lunch time) to feed the birds the other day and promptly bumped into lost delivery driver. I am sure they have seen it all, but I'd rather they didn't see mine frankly.
Meatballs and spaghetti tonight, was nice. Apparently. Must make things I can eat occasionally. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Some lovely starry night skies this week, and some glorious drives to school with the frost highlighting the scenery. I don't like being cold, but I do love the impact on the scenery.
Today I trimmed the surviving chilli plants in the hope that they will survive tiny cat munchies and continue to be productive.
Beef roasted, and served with roast potatoes, peas and gravy. Not the most imaginative of meals but well received. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Chili plants sound good
and the frosted views sound lovely.

Some glorious sunrises too, the only ones I see. Not a morning person so I never see the summer ones. Not everything about winter is bad.
The money shuffle happened and some, many, lots of bricks got coloured in. The annual allowance expires next week, and I haven't used it all. Tempting to move cash around and use the full thing as if things continue as they are we will use next years allowance by mid year.
I have a tiny dilemma. £1.50 of underpaid postage. No idea what. If I pay it , it will be something I don't want. If I don't pay it, it'll be something important. I wish they would put the sender details on!My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks for popping over EH and Seaside. The letter was a work one where the stamp had fallen off. I can put it through my expenses.
Its now 9 days till Christmas and I have not retrieved the tree from the greenhouse :easter:
Yesterday was our mortgage 'anniversary' and I am pleased to say we managed 9.7% of the 10% penalty free over payment we are allowed for the year. I burnt with the need to overpay the last little bit but couldn't bring myself to tempt fate and leave us with no easy access savings. The monthly interest is now consistently under 10 pounds a day, and whenever I am having a stressy work day I look at the (greatly reduced) mortgage balance and feel much better. I should have done this years ago, but old bank updated annually which was much less fun than the instant movement of the former griffin bank.
GF update, its clearly helping and i am sticking to it. HM bread sauce with shop bought GF bread was lovely. MrM have some good deals on GF stuff, including the pasta and stuffing at half price which may help someone. Not my thing. I'm hoping chocolate roulade works too, its only a couple of spoons of flour so the GF one should be ok.
the cat appears to have stood on something which has converted the laptop keyboard to american. #"#\#My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Glad the GF is helping
Christmas seems to be advancing faster than the speed of light
I like how you have figures for the mortgage, I just pay mine every month and don't really think about the % paid off etc. Great incentive, must look into this.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Nothing like looking at a reducing mortgage balance to cheer yourself up!:)
Good to hear that the GF is having a positive effect.
:eek:to the keyboard loving cat! What is it with felines and keyboards? DD found her Miss Princess draped over her (work) laptop keyboard today. Luckily she hasn't appeared to have deleted anything!:eek:Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
