I’m glad I don’t work with you with the eggs for lunch :rotfl: Seriously I hate everything about eggs with a passion, they are my nemesis.

Glad you now own half your house, great way to look at it :)

  • Blasted thing, lost the post

That 50% is based on non inspected estimate from the remortgage so ignores the work that has been done. There are still a frightening number of bricks to colour in.

That said, the project is now permanent wage slave role (on paper), that may change again in time but would be a change with notice rather than an overnight 'so long and thanks for all the fish' and I've cunningly built in a parentals getting ill or OH retiring early, relocation to pig based smallholding location option that become realistic if we do the big over payments.

Time saving gadgets question - has anyone got/has views on electric pressure cooker?

Thank you Lemontree, lovely to see you posting again by the way

Argos have one for £55 or so which tempts me. I think its just the guaranteed wages burning a hole in my pocket actually :o

Tonight we ended up having fish and chips as I was still on the work phone at gone 6. The freezer is so full I have to play tetris to fit stuff in so there is no real excuse.

Interesting discussion with OH about investing in windows etc. We came to the conclusion that we should pay off the mortgage before we invest great rafts of cash, otherwise we are borrowing to do the works. I wouldn't sign up for the wants of new furniture or carpets at X per month while ware servicing the debt, even if it is 'just' a mortgage so why do it for windows where the failed glass units can be replaced.

Its safety pins and cheap Swedish fleece blankets on the back of the curtains time again :)

Tonight I ordered a couple of mini bluetooth speakers from Azn at £6, nice little presents for teenagers in case it helps anyone else. Ill be able to borrow them back in a few months too :p

I also frittered 99p on a kndle book (Laurie Lee, As I walked out) this week, and c£7 on three books from AwesomeBooks for me n the boy who has suddenly discovered reading (at 16!) and must be encouraged. The library app obliged with Fast 800, and clever guts for 0 pence so I must read those too.

I love the library apps, can read most magazines for nothing. Christmas Good Food is usually a must buy and i occasionally get suckered into the gardening magazines but I can now read them for free.

OH came home from work with a couple of rolls of my favourite parma violets so he is in the good husband corner.

I registered for our library app but for us it's only audio books, or that's all I could see anyway. I'm trying to use the village library as well, got to keep the doors open

I love my books, mostly I inherit from a work mate or buy from a local CS who do 3 for 75p. My DS took after me and was an avid reader, sadly not DD who takes after Mr SA and not interested. I say they're missing out big time, books give so much pleasure.
