Thank you, just the usual hamster wheel of life leaving me with little free time.
1. Financials
A gain of £25 as the cashback for a utilities change (via this site) finally paid out a year on. I had given up on it to be honest so a double bonus.
Payday for OH, great log on, move money - only I couldn't because the physical number generator key has died without warning and every way of resetting or requesting a new key needs a number from the dead key or a password that he has never set up. Hardly Satisfactory Banking Crisis have a lot to answer for. Anyway, half an hour on hold saw us give up and request a transfer of funds to my account so I can play ducks and drakes from there. Who knows, after 40 years, maybe he will move his account.
The business bank account is with the same institute, and at newly increased £6.50 per month is rather expensive at 4 transactions in, 2 transactions out each month so I may sort that out shortly.
2. Eating:
Made fairly average squash coconut chilli soup using the MR recipe. Too runny, had to transfer to saucepan, add rice, wait ten and then return to blend. It got eaten but was not the best soup ever. DS remains obsessed with the leaky potato option so not all bad.
Visited the bulk buy butchers on the way back from a southern meeting yesterday. After many hours stop start on the M1 I did wish I hadn't bothered pre ordering but as it is I have an even fuller freezer to admire.
3. Spending
Couple of 200cm square fleece blankets from HB at £10 each, v warm and easy to wash when the little darlings throw some horrid hairball shapes. Cats, not the boys. The boys surely have more self control this side of alcohol? Although I vaguely remember trying to scrub the after effects of purple nasty up at a similar age
Tomorrows job is to plant the paperwhite daffodils for indoor flowering, havent done it for years so must check the instructions for seasonal display. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Have the boys not discovered alcohol yet?
You really do need an in-house hot tub or sauna. Or to move to somewhere like Texas...0 -

The hot tub sounds good for the joints. This cold damp weather probably isn't helping your joints. If I was rich I'd have a chef as I hate cooking, and a masseuse to help my achey muscles but maybe a hot tub would be cheaper.
That sounds very frustrating not being able to access DH's bank account . It's finding time to switch banks that's the problem I always find. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I know quite a few people who've had a hot tub installed. I like the idea but suspect they might be a faff to keep clean. Redo did you roast your butternut squash first, I always do even when using my soup maker otherwise they are pretty bland. Glad you enjoyed your break away.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

I think I would get bored of a hot tub fairly quickly, and it would just be something else to clean.
