It's surprisingly good at pine tree needles too. Finally cracked and got a tree, half price in a diy store. Frittered a few pounds on some half price baubles with robins on too. I do like robins. Got rid of the tatty baubles, regular use as a cat football generates a lot of wear and tear. Little cat has removed them all from the bottom third. It'll be a minor miracle if it still has any decorations left by next week.
Made almond biscotti, shouldn't eat them but inevitably will. Worth the stomach ache though. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Not sure about style DIA, greedy mostly.
My Faceache memories amused me, biscotti, truffles (delia recipe with Greek yoghurt - v nice), my first go at Florentines (Mary berry that year) and home cured hot smoked salmon in a very cold back garden. Mind you back then I only worked a few hours a week and my late (and much lamented) FIL was as enthusiastic about food as I am so the perfect audience. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I can't work out how I had time to do florentines, biscotti, hand made chocolates (remember when I did the chocolate-making classes?), properly decorated christmas cake (I think I still have the polar bears and trees) etc.
Nowadays I can just about feed myself and keep the house hygienic with help...
Im still waiting for my tree to be delivered. If it doesn't arrive today, I'll have to tell them not to bother as it'll be a bit obvious I'm away if it's outside the garage over the holiday!0 -

I don't know how I used to manage either. I got through a masters on top of a job and stayed fed and had a veg patch. Now I'm only doing a job, much less travel, and the house is a tip and I don't know what I'm doing with my time! Maybe I didn't used to sleep?Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

The Christmas tree does indeed smell lovely, especially when little cat is attacking it. She does like a nice bauble or three.
This morning I did a sneaky supermarket run, the cheap veg is on the shelves and was dated 26th Dec or after so that is my shopping done. The co op will oblige with anything I have forgotten. I also got a few trays of 30% off chicken so the freezer is jam packed full, first time in a while.
Florentines recipe came up on Faceache today, but that's a weekend job.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Two bags of parsnips, prepped, par-boiled and into the freezer. 38p for 800g of ready to use parsnips. I'm pleased with that. Must remember they are still on a tray in the freezer and bag them before they get frost burn. Fridge tidied and the rest of the veg removed from packaging in the hope it will last longer. I've just had the text to say the online butcher parcel is on its way.
Yesterday I applied to move my utilities, I'm all for supporting small and local but the foxy people have made a right mess of comms and after multiple price increases lately I have visions of them going pop so I have jumped first. I feel sorry for the staff.
I also opened the new pension pot, applied to move the little pot from last years temping and got the form for the business to pay in as well. Now I just actually have to fill it in but it's moving in the right direction at least.
Just tomorrow to get through and then a few much needed days off.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
