Morning all :hello: sorry I've been awol all week, I've managed to read but not have the energy to post. Crazy busy at work, but it's Saturday :j:j
Today I need to run some errands and do a few other things:
Pick up DD school cardigan and shoes, both already paid for
Go and feed chickens at nursery, if they've laid any eggs we can have them :T
Check tomatoes and other veggies in the garden
Freeze stock I made with ys chicken I bought yesterday. Used frozen end of life veg and broccoli stalks to go with
Freeze stripped chicken too
Go blackberry picking after freezing last haul
Maybe make cake with some of today's haul and freeze rest
Sort some of smalls room, looks like wardrobes will finally be finished this weekend which means I can get straight :T:T once I know what I can get in there I can plan the rest of upstairs
Washed 3 dresses yesterday that were dry clean only. Did it on cold wash and shortest spin. Think they've all survived, need to check today now they are dry before I put away as they're not regular wearers.
Right off for some breakfast. Enjoy your day peeps. Lovely to see you la e and Ziggy0 -
Morning all :coffee:
Had a bit of a lie in this morning, which I think was much needed. I've woken up not exactly raring to go but better than I've felt in a while...
So I've had my first cuppa of the day and have made a start on today's marking while everyone else is still in bed.
Plans for today include:
aim for a nsd - I need one and I have no need for going out
make plans to start using up food in the freezer
cook a batch of egg muffins because I have lots of eggs needing used up
stay on top of the marking
hopefully find a bit of time to crochet
bare minimum of housework
Have a good one all!Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Morning Campers,
Wish I'd put a cheap overnight wash on. Forecast looked showery so didn't bother, but it's a breezy sunshiney day here, would have been perfect for drying laundry for free. Today's small efforts:
*NSD. Mr f has to work all day so I don't have the wheels, cba with the bus & no inclination to walk 3+ miles round trip to town this morning.
*Picked more french beans & prepped for tomorrow's meal.
*A bit of fresh air & free exercise walking to post box at speed to get my letter in there before the van came to empty it.
*Last of my home made sourdough loaf for breakfast. Bought a loaf yesterday & froze half of it, as there's only two of us & it keeps better that way.
*Trying 2 new recipes out tonight. As mr f had to work, I promised I'd do a curry night, so I'm making hot chilli chicken for one dish, & in case that's too fiery for me, also a lamb & courgette dish. Will serve with rice & some of my home made garlic flat breads from the freezer. I can take curry quite hot, but not as hot as mr f likes....he actually has an asbestos gob. What is money saving about this? Well, the asbestos gob is capable of hoovering vast quantities of curry, so I'm planning on cooking this afternoon & separating off the spare portions for the freezer so that we get at least 3 or 4 portions out of it for another week. I will need to act with haste. If he sees it, he will want to eat it!
*Did a few surveys.
*Re-listed lots of ebay items.
*Paid another 2 x 50ps into my sealed pot & rounded up small change for adding to shrapnel pot.
*Obtained a quote for a job on the outside of our house - £300. I had thought a lot more than that. Think that shows how it can pay to use a local business rather than a big national chain. I have not previously managed to get any of them to give me a quote for this job because it's considered too small......they want the whole replacement soffits & fascias gig, but the chap from this local firm in town said he'd much rather stay in work with a few fiddly small jobs than not work, so I will consider it. It does need doing.
*Make picnic for our planned outing tomorrow.
*Knit more Christmas present.
*All free entertainment today - will update my blog, try to finish library book, start new audiobook & a film I want to see has appeared on catch-up or Prime or whatever it is & so I think I will watch that too.
Hope everyone's getting at least a few rays of this sunshine.

Afternoon all,
So far today I have picked up a package from the PO.
Collected my mum to go to the fish and chip shop for the lunch time special. She's a really fussy eater but she clears her plate there so it's well worth it.
Popped to the discount shop and bought a cheapie container to put my leftovers in, I keep meaning to leave one in my car as I often bring stuff home for the fox.
I went into the independent pet shop to ask if they will take the fish babies off our hands and they have given me a big plastic bag to transport them in.
Did a small shop for myself and my mum who was ready to spend £2.99 on 80 branded tea bags when the 160 pack was reduced to £3. Even with that saving my bill was still half what hers was for twice as much stuff.
Tonight I'm doing a pasta dish with courgettes and tomatoes from the garden, I will make a double batch which will last us for four meals.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekendMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Morning
I've been in a funk the last few days, stuff with dd over dgd. Gotta buckle up and prepare for difficult times ahead, but as the old timers know, this took it's toll on me last time....
So the last few days haven't been as happy as I would have liked them to be! I hope to make the most of today.
Think we're planning to go to the local wildlife park using our membership cards. But weather is nice today so maybe we'll go to the beach instead....
Going to get dressed after my 2nd coffee and go to the allotment for a bit - I'll take my mood out on the weeds!
will forage another batch of blackberries and hopefully start batch of wine later on
sausages out of freezer for oh & madam's tea, think I'll do it with a potato & squash bake mmmmmm
do a load of washing & hang up
get clothes/bags/lunches ready for tomorrow
list some things on fleabay
Ok that's enough chores for a Sunday! Hope you all have a good day xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning determined and all who follow. I'm sorry times are tough with your DD again. Hang in there with us, we'll support you through it. You know from previous you always come out the other side, even if it's tricky on the way.
My list for today:
Stew and freeze rhubarb from the garden and windfall plums from nursery
Freeze blackberries we picked as a family yesterday. Save some to make jam and liqueur and maybe a cake
Make jam, cake and steep blackberries in wine for ^^
Meals from stores planner - aim to use things that come in a plastic box, we're back to them all being in use (and I have tonnes) so need to use some so I can freeze leftovers again. Thinking macaroni cheese with cheese sauce I made Friday with OOD milk, so I don't have to freeze that as a start
Finish project wardrobe (about half way their with putting in the insides) and then will need to fill it. Will make things so much more organised! I can then sell 2 massive chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets which will a) make room and b) give me some dosh for the LPDF as they all match and go well on fleabay
Once sorted out some stuff in loft and check uniform for both smalls whilst up there and make a list of anything I might need. Just socks for small I think (and hope)
Do a proper august and September list now the wardrobes are done as it means I can do so much more, also can plan some time off for doing these things.
Go and feed chicks at nursery again. See if there are anymore ripe plums or apples on their trees.
Enjoy your day folks. Purps.0 -
Hi gang
DNMS - purps is right, you'll get through it and come out the other side. Sending you all my positive 'be strong' vibes. :grouphug:
I was out most of the day yesterday and probably going to be for most of the day - house is still a mess but I am watching tv and drinking coffee rather than cleaning it!
Looked to see whether it was worth switching my loan - I can save around £300 over the next 3 years by doing so...but don't know if it's worth the hassle in the grand scheme of things
We used the 33% discount yesterday - just had to sign up for restaurant newsletter
Not a lot but thought I'd pop in anyway.
:beer:0 -
DNMS, you are doing an amazing job with DGD and hopefully everyone can see that :A
I woke up reasonably early for me for a Sunday, I have:
Loaded the dishwasher and put another load in the washing machine.
Watered the garden and tied in the new growth on the climbing roses, I'm aiming for a rose arch to frame the wicker chair the cats like to sleep in/sharpen their claws on.
Still to do:
Continue operation bedroom tidy up, nearly there just need to take some eBay stuff down then polish and Hoover.
Continue operation kitchen declutter.
Photograph and list stuff on FB and eBay.
My plan is to systematically photograph and pack into bags/containers as I go along ready to boot sale anything that doesn't sell. It means I will need to root around for anything that does sell but at least it will all be in the same place. I've put about 40 things on FB so far, will see how they go on there before putting on eBay. Lots more to photograph still thoughMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Waves to all - desperately need to get a grip of life and finances as I've just ditched my part time job and lost £500/month.
So if you dont' mind I'll join you all on here - the small things thread is my favourite. Hugs DNM having been through a series of hard times with both of my two - I can totally sympathise xxx Dig in and breathe. Well jel of blackberries not a hope of them ready here any time soon.
Today so far
Boxed up bottom of the fridge veg soup and added some l/o chicken to it - 5 portions so that's 17 soups in the freezer now.
Took lunch to work but not hungry so will have tomorrow
Had a free cuppa at work and working o/t so I have time off tomorrow with DH
Walked the dogs locally saved petrol
Picked some fallen green tomatoes at work and need to do something with them later
Picked some free basil - working in a garden has its perks
Started a new MSE diary to give me focus I've 6k to shift and a full time job now so no excuse, need to watch pennies now the p/t job is gone.
Charged laptop at work.
To do
Do a fridge audit and sort it out - needs a clean too
Have a look through the cupboards and top up some of the jar supplies
walk mutts if it ever stops raining
Make dumplings for tea rather than out for a meal
Quick check of the reduced on the way home
Local petrol
Put a load on airer rather than risk it out
Bottle some hm red currant cordial from free currants (work again)
That's me - spoke to DD via mssgr this am as she's flying to her dads - will try and speak to DS later.
Have a great weekend chaps!
