What small DFW things will you do this week W/C 31st July

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning
whoop day off and madam is going to CM's. Awwwww I'm going to love it when she gets settled into school as I'll have 2 days a week off
Small list today as I have a couple of important things to do so need to prioritise!
* [STRIKE]update CV and compose a covering letter & send off for a vacancy[/STRIKE] whoop 1st draft done
will go back to it this afternoon and check it covers what I wanted to say, role profile and is in good grammatical order
then get oh to check it this evening
* [STRIKE]go through cc statement, work out what's from where and pay[/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] make madam's bag & lunch[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* hang washing on the line - put away washing in the basket already[/STRIKE]
pretty chuffed that I was able to focus on priorities and use my time effectively this morning :money: instead of frittering away the hour before madam got up I used it to do my financial stuff. So now can add a few more things to the list
Once these are done I hope to:
[STRIKE]
* Go to the allotment for an hour or two - be nice to walk there[/STRIKE] didn't walk
spent about 1.5 hours, but it was hot so came home. Picked a courgette, a few strawberries, a cucumber and some broccoli
* make some hummus & bake a cake
* [STRIKE]flylady[/STRIKE] kinda I've done a few 15 mins slots. Prob do 1 oe 2 more. House looking v spick and span :T
* might make a start on konmarie again later on
* list 2 things on fleabay
* re-watch the hair tutorial and give myself a trim :money:
Ok that'll do for now I think. Going to make a start on the cc now
FVD I used to straighten my hair. But I had a bad colour a few years ago and my hair was quite damaged so I had to give up my straighteners. I was really hard to start with! Then I decided to embrace being curly. Now I wouldn't look back! I am quite lazy by nature so just spending 5 minutes on my hair suits my temperament
Happy Monday to you all xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all

Sunny so far today, but the forecast for the week looks grim
Today's list:
HG blueberries and raspberries with breakfast
(Also used a small peach which had gone wrinkly)
Load of washing, hoping to dry outside between bouts of rain, but not holding my breath! Managed to dry it outside, another load done which I hope to peg outside tomorrow
Finalise shopping list, need to do a shop either today or tomorrow Done, went to Lidls and the pound shop
Some cleaning, I am currently washing down the walls, paintwork, cupboards etc in the kitchen, but am gradually working my way round all the areas of the house that need it (cheaper than decorating).
Got three quarters of the way round the kitchen, including taking down a lot of utensils hanging on an old game rack under a sort of raised skylight. Managed to clean the raised skylight thing by standing on a stepladder and wielding the floor mop to reach the highest bit. Also cleaned the utensils that don't get used often, now all put back
2 cheques to pay in (refunds on car tax for 2 vehicles recently traded in) Done
Surveys - addicted to Prolific atm
Done, will have another look in a minute
Check banks Done
Not much cooking needed today - OH can have leftovers for dinner (his choice, rest of yesterday's fish pie) and I will have an omelette. We still have scones for snacks / treats
Might make a rice pudding to use up some leftover cream though. Haven't got round to making the rice pudding - will put on tomorrow's list!
Check garden, water anything that needs it (possibly French beans in big pots), pick produce that is ready, a few blueberries and raspberries, an armful of rhubarb, French beans, tomatoes etc Nothing needed water, need sun now I think! Picked rhubarb, French beans, courgettes, tomatoes, blueberries and raspberries
Dog walks
I did the morning one, OH the afternoon one
Speaking of which, he is keen to go out before it starts raining
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all, my trains are up the spout so I am still at my local station, and this is BEFORE the upgrade disruptions have started

It is gloriously sunny here though.
I checked the aubergine which has been salted overnight prior to pickling and it's sitting in a good salty soup, can't wait to get started and then I have to try not to be impatient and eat it too soon
I don't have lunch with me today so I will need to find something cheap or hope there is food testing going on today!
I was looking at the pictures of my house that I screen grabbed from the EA before I moved in and have decided I need to get rid of some clutter in the kitchen, it looked so much nicer with less on the work tops.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Hello Monday Money Savers,
Got off to a good start, but my back is bad again so am having a catch-up with a few sitting-down tasks now, emails,, etc. On today's list:
*Set timer for overnight laundry on the cheap tariff. Blowing dry outside, as are 2 quick 30 mins at 30 degree washes.
*Two baths from one lot of hot water. Hair drying naturally. Haven't used hairdryer for ages.
*Baked loaf in bread machine.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Free fitness as had a walk round village. Went via the house which has free fruit for passers-by to take & picked up another 2lbs plums. Now prepped & in freezer.
*Cut down 2 more large plastic bottles to make bottle-cloches for next Spring's tender veggie seedlings.
*Only need 6 chicken drumsticks for tonight's meal, have spotted there are 10 in the pack, so will freeze the extras for bulking out a BBQ at some point or for a picnic.
*Crochet around some more blanket squares - another part-ball of gifted yarn came my way yesterday so that will aslo be added into my thrift project sock yarn blanket.
*Re-fill vintage glass decanter with cheapy bubble bath.
*Check presents box to see what I've got in there for a particular friend. I've earned some vouchers from surveys & there's a book I could get her that she'll love, but I want to make sure I haven't already bought her something & squirrelled it away.
*mr f texted me to say he passed some nice blackberries on his way into work first thing & that he was planning on heading back that way over his lunch break with his lunchbox to collect them. I haven't been properly blackberrying yet this year, but we have a couple of bushes in the garden (one is officially ours & the other is a rogue which pokes through from neighbour's garden every year) so I've started a contained in the freezer to which we add every time we pick a handful.
*Added 5 x 50p pieces to my sealed pot.
*Shuffled a little cash around to keep our savings piggies accurate.
*Did a few surveys.
*If my back feels a bit more lively this afternoon, intend to do a few greenhouse maintenance jobs, such as 'stopping' the tomatoes now that they're up to the roof, checking the peppers & chillies for any pests/problems & seeing if it's worth feeding the cucumber plants up to rejuvenate or whether to give up for this season. They are at that crispy brown almost carked-it stage, but there's a fresh vine growing & some years, I've managed to nurture that into life & had a 2nd lot of cukes. Will have a good look at them.
*Pick stuff for tonight's salad - looks like it'll be tomatoes, lettuce, radishes & spring onions.
*All free leisure today, as intend to try & finish library book, update my blog & watch a TV prog on catch-up.
Hope everyone's getting a good start to the week.
Best Wishes,

Afternoon all :hello:
I am WFH so could be worse, I did pop out this morning as I'd booked a shoe appointment, but the choice was really poor. Got a pair for one and not the other, so will need to go back which is disappointing. It's like they didn't know people would be buying school shoes!!
Anyway, other things:
HM pizza for smalls, although DH ate last of ham for his lunch (annoyingly!) so they will have to go plain cheese and tomato
Managed to get some washing dry between showers
Quick tidy round
see if I can get pair of shoes for other small on line
check banking, surveys and FPL
Some knitting tonight I think, not done any for a while
Get DD wellies ready as they have a day out from nursery tomorrow
Empty car of rubbish after weekend away
See if I can get DD to look at her homework and at least do some of it
Water pots as they seem dry, despite the rain and I'm hopeful for some spring onions still
Right off to get on and get some work done. Purps.0 -
Tired after DD sports trip yesterday and then woke up to masses of paperwork flying at me.
The good thing, while I'm dealing with that, I'm not spending any money.
Not a lot done, except paperwork, cat cleaning and a quick run over with the hoover.
Did manage to get some washing out and dried so a productive day in some ways.
Not getting very far with sorting out back bedroom, I have a quieter week next week so I think the plan will be to attack it then.
Must get my bum in gear and do a tip run, still have the broken Christmas fairy lights and a star to go from Christmas!!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
