4 hours work done today, so I've invoiced them for those as well as the 3 from a few weeks ago. The money should be coming in to my account on Monday. I'll move some of it to a separate account ready for my tax and ni bill. The rest will be split between spending money and holiday money. It will mean an extra £30 on to holiday.

I spoke with Dh this morning about the possibility of him going in late to work once a month so that I can go in to do the accounts at this business. He agreed to it, so I mentioned it to work this morning and they're very keen. It'll be around 3 hours once a month, so an extra £40-£50 a month.

I've spent £8 today. £6 on a mattress protector for ds2's cot, and £2 on a bacon sarnie! I'm home alone again this afternoon. The aim was to do some housework, but in reality I've collapsed on the sofa, binge watching 'Not Going Out'!!

The money from work hit the Account yesterday instead of Monday. £177 for our holiday now.

I'm trying to persuade myself to go out for a run :rotfl: I'll feel great once I've done it, it's just the getting myself moving. Dh is at work all day today. I've got a Tesco food delivery coming this morning, and then I'm taking the boys out for the day. We're going to take a picnic with us. It will cost £14 for us to go in, but there's lots to do once we're there (hopefully).

I have no idea what I'm going to do for dinner tonight. I'll have to see if I get any inspiration during the day :rotfl:

Run done :j Actually felt easier than Thursday morning. Tesco food shop has gone through on the card. £44.83.

I turned the oven on earlier to cook a small (one of the Tesco value) pizzas ready to cut up for our picnic today as well as some sausage rolls. I've just looked at the oven to see if it was far off and noticed I've gone and turned it off again! I don't think I'm quite awake yet!

Thank you :) We've had a lovely but tiring day out. We got back around 3 and I've now got 1 grumpy 8 month old and 1 tired 4 year old (who's found Swashbuckle on tv so is happy!). Part of where we went today had a long nature walk/adventure trail. It said suitable for pushchairs so off we went. You can start from either end. There were some really boggy parts that were very difficult to get a pushchair through! When we finally reached the end, the sign there said 'some parts may be difficult with a pushchair!' :rotfl: It wasn't wrong! I definitely earned that ice cream at the end!

As well as entry, I bought 2 ice creams. They came to £2.80 which I thought was pretty cheap (especially as 1 was a Magnum!).

I can't remember if I mentioned changing clubcard points for days out vouchers. Well, they've arrived today. £5 of vouchers = £20 days out tokens. It means free entry into 1 place for me and the boys, and £3-£4 to pay for another place. We're half way through the school holidays now, and I'm pretty impressed with how much we've spent so far. The next 3 weeks should be just as good (especially as I'm back in work for the last 2!).

I've decided dinner tonight will be an easy one. Pesto pasta with roast chicken and pine nuts. I think I've got a garlic baguette in the freezer as well.

Tesco delivery came, and I had a free sample size lucozade and a card as it was my 100th delivery with triple points on my next shop. As I was putting things away, I noticed that there are a few things that we're very well stocked up on now, so there'll be a lot of usuals that we won't need next week. I'm wondering whether that means I'll be able to squeeze in a bottle of gin and still keep to budget :rotfl: Well, I haven't got much left!

  • We've just swapped £11.00 of Tesco vouchers for 2 tickets to Duxford Air museum. Would cost us £36 in cold hard cash otherwise. Bargain.

Pasta, pesto and pinenuts with garlic bread went well............I didn't have pine nuts in the house (though I'm sure I not long ago bought a new bag, but I must have imagined it), and I left the garlic bread in the oven (after switching it off!). 2 course meal, with garlic bread as pudding! :rotfl:

    I've currently got a roast cooking....let's hope that's a little more successful!

I'm planning my food delivery for next week (and still praying for the gin, though I have read the aldi one has won awards so may go for one from there instead!). I'm back in work in 10 days, so will be having 3 packed lunches a week. I don't want sandwiches every day, so I'm planning left overs from the night before's dinner if I'm making something big like a bolognese, chilli or pasta. Otherwise I'm thinking exciting salads (I've been more adventurous with salads recently and am really enjoying them), pasta dishes, or soups when the weather gets colder. I finish work at 4:30 every day, so have plenty of time after work to prep for the next day.

I also keep popping back to my spreadsheets for budgeting once 1. I start the new job, and 2. we get this payout through and can pay off our loan. We're still going to have to budget pretty tightly, but there'll be more wiggle room, and space for treats. I can't wait!! :j Also, dh gets paid weekly, but I've budgeted at the basic 4 week month. Every 3 months there are 5 pay days, so we're going to use that extra pay as a date night. We never go out without reason, and if we do it's budgeted so tightly. We're going to choose somewhere different every 3 months, and the money left from there is going to be split between savings, Christmas/birthday and holidays. The first 5 week month (after September, but not sure whether my wages will be through quick enough in the new job) will be December. So, we may have a Christmas date night, or save it until the new year.

I really need to get back into meal planning. I haven't done it at all during the Summer holidays. I'm just checking what we have in the cupboards last minute and going from there. I'm going to meal plan this evening for this week coming now. I need to get more veg into our meals too!

Right, I'd better get back to this roast (I'm sure the skin on the chicken is calling out to be eaten :rotfl: ).

Aldi gin is just as good as branded in my Step dads opinion and he's a brand snob on everything even down to toilet roll :rotfl:
