I love a good clear out, I do one at the end of every summer before the kids go back to school. We gather up so much rubbish and it means I have less to tidy when I'm doing school runs and homework and I'm just busier in general.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I checked the accounts and we did have enough for the wardrobe and storage unit for toys so, me being me, by lunch time I had ordered them, collected them, brought them home, taken down ds2's changing table (which isn't being used) and put together both boxes of flatpack (the boys were at my mil's for the day!).
It's my mission this weekend to get these 3 bedrooms completely organised. Then beginning of next week I'm going to finish sorting the toys out. 4 more days off until I start my new job and I'm determined this house is going to be 100% clutter, dust and cobweb free. I'm making it sound like a real pigsty! It's not, I promise!! I always like my house to be in a state where if someone calls round, I'm happy for them to come in. But, I'm now wanting it to be spotless and totally organised (for a short while anyway!!).
Tonight is the first Friday night in a long time that I've not had a glass of wine. It's starting to become a habit that dh's home from work, I've had a busy day with the boys, dinner's on so I'll have a glass of wine. Followed by another whilst watching tv. It's so bad for my health so I figured it's time to cut back. I'll have a drink if we're out for food, but I'm going to stop drinking at home, other than the odd occasion. I'll save a few pennies in the process!
We had a cheapie pasta dinner tonight. Quick and easy! Tesco is coming tomorrow morning and then after tomorrow's delivery I'm switching to Tuesday deliveries. That's because to save money I've changed my delivery saver to midweek, and also it will encourage me to eat better lunches at work if everything's fresh!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I don't think there'll be much happening at the S household today. Ds1 isn't well, and has woken a few times in the night sobbing. Dh is sleeping in with him. His temp was slightly up at bedtime, but since giving him paracetamol it's been back to normal and is still ok now. Ds2 has just woken for a feed and is now kicking the mattress of the cot, but hopefully he'll go back off to sleep. I was half thinking of going for a run this morning, but to be honest I don't think I'll go now. I'm hoping the 4 of us manage to get a few more zzzzzzzs in before morning!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500

Hope ds1 feels better and you manage to have a nice day.
Thank you. He's ok, just very overtired and fighting off some bugs I think! No temp, but a quiet day chilling.
Today we've moved ds2 into his own roomI've also given his room a good sort out, so I've only got ds1's room, our room and the toys under the stairs left to sort before Wednesday. Tomorrow is going to be another day at home so will get a good chunk of it done.
Tesco delivered this morning. No subs which Dh was disappointed with as they're usually more expensive items :rotfl: We did have 50p off though for brand match (I think that's what they call it). I also used a triple points voucher, and an extra points voucher. My next proper shop will be week Tuesday, but I will need to stock up on a couple of fresh bits before then. The last 4, if not 5, shops have all been under £50 :j I need to keep this up now and stick to budget. I usually start adding the odd Christmas item each week or two from September onwards, especially if they're on offer, so will start to keep an eye out.
I've cashed in opinion outpost surveys today. £3.25 on top of the £2.50 I got from them the other day. That makes my August cashed in surveys total £16.45. I'm going to see if I can get it to £20 before the end of the month. I'm planning on heading back over to the make £10 a day challenge for September to see how I get on.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Today I've sorted out our bedroom, so that now just leaves ds1's room and under the stairs. Dh's worked through the laundry basket today so that was empty for around 10 minutes. I can't believe how much laundry we do these days!! I'm going to have to see if the machine has a button where you can set a timer so it starts at a certain time. If so I think I'll start setting it for around 5am so that one load is ready to be dried by the time we get up. I really need to get my head around my back to work routine in the mornings too. I think I'm going to have to wake nice and early so that I'm 100% ready before the boys get up.
I'm already in bed this evening. Have been for 20 minutes already. I've set up a spreadsheet for healthy eating here! I've been following rebelfit on facebook for quite a while now, and it does make sense. I've been on a diet (SW, WW, a couple of others) on and off for 15 years. I weigh 2.5-3 stone more now than when I first joined! I need to up the exercise and just be more aware of what I'm eating. Saying no to treats doesn't work for me. My spreadsheet is basically a block for every meal time (and 3 snacks), one for alcohol, water, other soft drinks and one for exercise. If I've eaten a varied, healthy, good for me meal the block will be changed to green. If it's junk, processed, then it will be red. If it's in the middle it will be orange. If I do no exercise, then the exercise block for that day will be red, if I do exercise which increases my heart rate and causes me to sweat (nice!) then it's a green, if I am having an active day (walking or running around the garden) then it's orange. I figured it's ok to have a mixture of all 3 colours, but I'm aiming to have more greens. I'm hoping that by seeing this then I'll be more aware of how much junk I eat and aim to change the pattern a little. We'll see if it works. Like I said, reds and oranges are fine. Pizza is fine, chocolate is fine, a glass of wine is fine. But not every day. I'm going to see how the first week goes and see what colours are mainly on my sheet!!
Right, it's time for an early night. Tomorrow I will sort ds1's room, and the toys. I'm then going to dust and hoover throughout and I should have a home to be proud of!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
I'm sitting in ds1's room half way through sorting. It's the fiddly little bits left, the books and under the bed! There's then a load on the landing for dh to take up the attic this evening, a quick clean through and upstairs is done. Just the toys under the stair left, a general tidy up and I have a clean and tidy house (other than the boiler room.....the one room I have asked dh to sort as it's mainly full of his stuff!! I wonder how long I'll have to wait for him to sort that!!).
I've had a 'green' breakfast. Well I'm classing it as green! Scrambled eggs with tomatoes abd spinach in a pitta bread. Very quick and easy to make.
Right, I'd better carry on with sorting this room out!!Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -

What a busy week! I've been back at work since Wednesday, and so far I'm really enjoying it. I've spent this morning updating YNAB and the bank accounts, and getting everything ready for September.
Dh has gone to work this morning, and once he gets back I need to sort a couple of work things out for him.
I hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Just typed out a post, and the iPad crashed!
I'm starting to get a little more organised. I've meal planned for the week, so we're starting to eat a little better, and will hopefully save a few pennies. We had homemade burgers tonight, and I made double so I've frozen them which will save a few minutes next time. It's slow cooker chicken casserole tomorrow.
I've found out that I am being paid in my new job tomorrow, which makes September a lot easier. Half a month of maternity was going to be very difficult! I've also set up a standing order going from our wages account to our bills account each month, starting at the end of September. It's the same amount that goes into the bills account each month, so thought it would save 1 job! Once everything settles, we've paid off the loan and know exactly what's coming in each month, I plan to do the same for our spending, personal and savings account. All I'll have to do them is to keep an eye, and make sure we stick to budget!
I've just had the world's biggest [STRIKE]actually it was pretty small[/STRIKE] spider sitting on my foot whilst I was watching tv. I am petrified of them. At least I've burned some calories off dancing around the living room :rotfl: I'm now paranoid that there are dozens of them hiding, watching me, ready to attack as soon as I switch the lights off :rotfl:Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500
