Wow they are good (and expensive) savings goals.

I've just done my kitchen - it's large and we had a wall knocked down, it was quite a big job. I spent £14k in the end. But I love it and it was desperately needed. All paid for with a combination of savings and 0% finance - should be paid off by June 2019! I'm hoping to pay a bit more off but as it's on 0% so it's not desperate.

    Good luck with your saving!

They're definitely expensive savings goals, but very long term!! I can't wait until the day that we can get our kitchen done. I've got big plans in my head!!

After a few hours out, I decided to bring the boys home early. Ds1 had a strange attitude, which is unlike him, so thought he may be over tired and home to relax would do him good. Within 5 minutes of being in the car, he was fast asleep!! We did have a lovely walk, a nice picnic, and ds1 had a play in the park.

I did buy one Christmas present on the way out though! It's for dh. I don't think he reads this, but I'd better not say what in case!! He's been mentioning it for a while, and he pointed out one he liked over the weekend so I went back today to buy it. It was only £7.50, and I had enough spare change in my purse.

Dh is working late tonight, so it's just me and the boys for dinner. I think I'll make a simple one.....fish fingers, rice and mixed veg. A compromise between healthy and freezer junk!

That's some impressive goals! I have a few goals I'm hoping to aim for once I get all my high interest debts gone but they aren't as impressive as yours.

Summer club day for ds1 today again, so I've dropped him off there, ds2 has had a belly full of milk and is now fast asleep and I've got the washing machine working overtime today!

I've completed a couple of surveys this morning, and managed to cash out £10.70 with one, and £2.50 with another. I also made that £5 yesterday morning by selling on facebook.

I need to check ynab and my accounts this morning, and I'll reconcile ynab. Other than that (and all the laundry) I'm planning a relatively quiet day today.

I worked out the balance transfers a few weeks ago now when I wasn't feeling 100%. I really shouldn't work with numbers when I'm ill. I thought I'd cleared everything, but I still have a couple of hundred on my next account. I worked things out wrong. I have this morning transferred the money from my new credit card to cover it, as I'm still in the 0% offer stage. It means my credit card debt will be increasing a little, but I won't be paying any interest on my next account!

I've had such a lazy day. All I've done is the laundry (there was lots), taking ds2 to the health visitor to be weighed (gaining weight nicely), fed him and fed myself.

I've been trying to decide how best to attack the grocery shopping every month. I get the baby bits (formula, nappies, etc) from Aldi and everything else I've been buying from Tesco. Aldi has household items that are far cheaper, though, so I may do a baby/household shop in Aldi every month, frozen bits from Farmfoods (fruit, veg, etc. Not meat.......I don't like their frozen chicken breasts!), and then whatever is left in the grocery pot will be split between either 4 or 5 Tesco shops.

I may try it this way for September to see how it goes (though I think I'll pop to Aldi and Farmfoods tomorrow as the freezer is starting to look a little empty and I've been on a mad cleaning frenzy for the past week or so and am running out of everything!!

I think I can hear the little one waking so it's playtime!

I think I'm nesting. I know I'm not due a baby, but I'm due to finish maternity leave in 4 days, so I think I could be nesting before heading back to work. I'm determined to get the whole house clean, tidy and organised!

This evening we've rearranged all the furniture in the living room. It's completely changed the room! The toys are hidden out of view, unless they're pulled out to play with, which is great! It still needs cleaning and the toys need sorting, but it's getting there.

Whilst sorting out, we came across our kindle fire (I think that's what it's called!). We bought it during Black Friday back in 2015 (I think). It doesn't get used at all. Half of me thinks he's too young, but ds1 loves a couple of apps on my iPad. We figured that we can put those apps on and give him the tablet for Christmas as his main gift. It hasn't cost us anything (unless you count 2 years ago!), and he's got a wow gift. It will definitely be under our control, and only allowed on it for a short while, and not every day.

Right, I'm shattered. I was going to go for a run in the morning, but I think I'd be better off wth an extra 30 minutes sleep before starting the day!

I did manage the run yesterday morning. I was out at 6:20am and went running around the local streets instead of hiding away at a local, empty park! I ran almost a mile before having to stop and walk, which I'm really pleased about after only been back running 2 weeks.

I also cleaned the living room and organised all the toys yesterday. A black sack of rubbish went. I have no idea where it all comes from!! I also stocked up on baby bits in Aldi (baby event has started). My next main jobs in the house are to sort out the bedrooms. I'm going to get a new canvas wardrobe for our bedroom (until we can afford proper new furniture) for work clothes, as everything is so squashed at the moment in the wardrobe we have. We need to move ds2 into his own room, and there's one storage unit I want to get for his room (it's not too expensive, and is the same as the one in ds1's room - they're child friendly and great for storing toys). We then need to do a massive sort out of all 3 bedrooms. They're such a mess! (Well, my definition of a mess. I hate clutter!!!).

Dh pulled down a bag of clothes from the attic last night, and I think it has running clothes in it which is great. It also looks to be full of winter jumpers, so will be very handy soon.

I need to sort through ynab and the accounts today, then see if we've got enough money spare for the wardrobe and storage unit. Otherwise, we'll have to wait.

Wow - you're super productive MrsS! Everywhere I look in my house there's something that needs done, but I never seem to get round to it. Hope going back to work isn't too painful when it comes!
