ElusiveLucy, sorry to hear you are having a horrendous time at work :( Hope the situation rights itself and in the meantime that you can stay on top of the AFDs. The one thing I would say is that no situation ever seems less stressful when coupled with a hangover :rotfl:Anyway, I hope things get less difficult for you (((ElusiveLucy))) :)

Thanks CathyBird. Unfortunately I was told today there will be no change in stance from management and I have to do a job I don't want to so things aren't going to get better. Time for a change I think
What goes around comes around.....I hope!
  • Hiya everyone, just a quickie from my hotel room.
Conference finishes tomorrow and I am still sober, despite copious amounts of wine and lager freely available I haven't had any and really don't feel as if I'm missing out.
I won a bottle of champagne tonight but gave it away.
So here I am, in my room completely relaxed and sober.
I'm about to put on a L'Or!al Facebook (if you haven't tried one I seriously recommend them) and will no doubt look a million dollars tomorrow morning amongst all the puffy, hungover faces. ( ok, I'll look like a well used fiver) :rotfl:::rotfl:

    Jo xx

9/15 please- nearly double figures! Interesting comments regarding stopping or moderating. Like Maman I can limit myself to one glass if out with say colleagues although it can still be a struggle when I get back. However, previously I would have made sure I had wine in my hotel room to open when I got back. As long as I can resist that it’s not too difficult. I can resist the lure of the tiny hugely expensive bottle in mini bar fortunately, because I hate being ripped off.

Thank you Maman and Honey Bear for your comments
12/31 for last night so that makes more AF days than drinking days in January so far
I feel so much better when I do not drink so why do I self sabotage?
Just going to plod on one day at a time because although I would like to stop completely the foreverness scares me - holidays without a beer?
I really wish winter would go away as I find it so much easier to not drink if I can potter in the garden on an evening
