Bottom of chain only sent off searches last week.....over a month after chain was completed. Give me strength 😂
I think that's what's happened with both our buyers, despite them supposedly starting the whole process several weeks before us. They're only taking 2 weeks to come back locally, ours are back, but theirs are due back one tomorrow hopefully, and one late March. Sigh.

    Oo email from our solicitors!
They’re still waiting for some searches back but the sellers have agreed to aim for a completion date of 23/04!
    Exciting!
That iis exciting! We are at the same stage, and I can't get anyone to even pin down a month let alone a date. I think I am going to start pressing for this to be discussed now.

Some exciting posts, and frustrating ones too - although I'm so glad everyone seems to be retaining their sense of humour! :)
Nothing happening here, one buyer's searches are supposedly due back tomorrow, the other hopefully next week and I'm told most enquiries are done. I'm going to send am email to my solicitor to ask where we are and if we can start talking provisional completion dates, as with two chains of three we do need start thinking about this in advance.

  • Heard absolutely nothing yesterday so I gave it until 11 and emailed the solicitor

    Still nothing

Was hoping to complete next week but that's looking more and more unlikely  :(

I'd like to say that it probably won't be long now for you, but it took about 6 weeks for our enquiries to be sorted out.
Because all of the professional expert conveyancers involved were struggling to understand the concept of "emails".

I'd suggest moving all of your boxes into as fewer rooms as possible, then you can close the door on it and pretend something less emotionally damaging has happened, like you've been robbed of all your valuables at gunpoint.

We've sold off our furniture and been packed and ready to go since the beginning of January.
I can't remember what a dining table looked like.
We are in a 2 bed flat, so no room to move the boxes into one room and shut the door as we need to use each room and we are both working from home :(

    Morning all,
I have no idea if we have or have not exchanged but I do know that my bank account was relieved of a rather large amount of money and now resembles a scene from an empty town in a spaghetti western with just tumbleweed rolling past.
Can I have the keys now please???
Update: A couple of phone calls later and I've been told that all funds are in place. Tomorrow it is!
I should be very excited right now but I haven't slept well the last few nights (the last week or so tbh) and don't have the energy to give even the slightest frig.
I'm a FTB and the house is chain-free and empty so I'm aware I've had it easy compared to some of you. Sending much love and blessings to all of ya!

My tip (from a complete novice) is to email them asking whether a specific date seems realistic- we picked the 19th April.
When we had asked before about time frames and not mentioned a date we got a standard “8-12 weeks from start to finish” response- when we mentioned a date we initially got “that seems feasible”& then a week later I got the message that said the 23rd!

Thank you, I’m going to pop them an email tomorrow to let them know I want to start putting dates on the agenda. Especially as there are six parties that need to agree to one.

This was me a couple of weeks ago. The best I could do until the day before was just stack boxes in a corner. I took 2 days off work before moving day and that’s when it all came together and I could use one room to store everything once boxed/dismantled. It will be ok 🙂
