Awwwww I'm so excited for you! I'm moving back to the North East with my purchase and love how much more I can get for my money already 😁(selling my tiny 2bed terrace for 150...buying 4bed semi with huge kitchen diner for 190!)
    Oh yay!
It is wild how much further your money can go here, our house is a 3 bed semi with an en suite (fancy!) for under £150,000- I have family in Cornwall who would be paying more than that for a 1 bedroom cottage with half a ceiling (literally!) where they live.

Haha similar where I am now.... We just couldn't afford to get what we want/need! I think house prices in general are insane... I'm sorry how much for these bricks and mortar? 😂

Hoping I hear some news today..... Its starting to consume my every thought!

More Accord drama holding us up. They want 7 working days to review this ridiculous audit they’ve started and a further 7 working days to be informed of completion. So we are looking at April if they stick to these timescales. We were assured we’d exchange and complete last week so this is beyond frustrating. Half tempted just to unpack everything, and half tempted to just go to a different lender because Accord have been nothing short of terrible this whole process.
Oh god, this is scary, supposed to be exchanging on Friday - not heard anything about any Accord hold-ups... did they say why they're doing this audit?  Hope they see sense and you get it sorted sooner than that.
They’ve done it purely because we haven’t used Accord’s conveyancers as we had ours set up before our mortgage offer. They want 7 working days to review the documents and a further 7 working days notice to complete. So they’ve delayed us quite a few weeks now considering we’d all planned to be in the house by now.

Good luck to those waiting to exchange today.
So yesterday, more disagreements about the indemnity insurance. Agent called us and said “your buyers have an online solicitor and not very responsive, so I think it’s best you pay this indemnity and arrange it through your
solicitor to get this done) so i said no! What part of us breaking the chain and bending over backwards to go into weeks in an air bnb and being homeless do they not understand? 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄

Lots of luck those waiting on info/progress today - hope all these frustrating issues get resolved quickly.
I received my draft sale contract yesterday, so I'm dropping that off at the solicitor's office this afternoon, all signed in preparation to exchange at some point. I'm hoping my solicitor is trying to get as much done as possible while waiting for both sets of buyers' searches to come back in the next couple of weeks. No idea how the top of the other chain is doing though - GDPR and all that, and my ex doesn't have a clue (and clearly isn't chasing)  :/
Property buying/selling timeline - currently into week 21
04/12/20: Both properties listed for sale
11/01/21: Offers accepted on both sales & on our joint purchase
25/01/21: Identity checks completed, solicitors instructed
27/01/21: Purchase survey & valuation complete, mortgage offer received
05/02/21: Reduction agreed on partner's sale (under-valuation) & on purchase. Mortgage offer amended
08/02/21: Buyers pack returned to solicitor - sellers packs already returned
    26/02/21: Partner's sale contract signed
    10/03/21: Purchase searches all back
    16/03/21: My sale contract signed
28/03/21: Purchase enquiries satisfied, Title Report & contracts issued, contracts signed & returned
11/05/21: Still waiting on final enquiry in the adjoining chain to be resolved. Consent to break the chain granted, instruction to move to exchange given.
17/05/21: All parties agreed to June 3rd for completion
27/05/21: Exchanged on my sale only
    28/05/21: ALL EXCHANGED!
    03/06/21: Completion
  • Sitting around waiting for the call saying we can collect the keys!
Feels like a waste of a morning, I should have just worked this morning instead of taking the whole day off

Ahh... I didn't know they had their recommended conveyancers tbh, so I'm not using whoever that is either.  The solicitor has requested confirmation of funds release from Accord, so will wait and see what happens.  Sooo close now.  Just sent my deposit money over this morning by CHAPS, so already on the edge of my seat waiting for that to arrive at the solicitors.
