  • Hmm, I've just had the MSE Credit Club email and it appears there have been NO searches at all, which means the building society haven't done a credit search yet  Should I be worried?! MSE reckons my credit score is 980 so I assume not... but I would have thought they'd have gotten round to it at some point in the last 10 weeks!

Hey ho, another potential thing that can go wrong I suppose :rotfl:

Depends on which credit agency they report to, if they don't report to all three. My mortgage search only shows up on my Equifax file, nothing on MSE's one (which uses Experian data).

Aha, good point tallsmithy, thank you :D
  • Daff, you can check your equifax for free through clearscore. My mortgage searches (all 10 of them, thank you Principality!) are on my Experian but not my equifax. I've also had a soft search from my solicitors... I wonder why. That one shows on my equifax and not my Experian though! It's all a bit of a dark art I think...

Excellent, thanks Clueless :j Looks like they did the credit check on 22nd August and ID check on 30th so we shouldn't have any new nasty surprises on that front this week at least! :T

    I love MSE :j :j

Glad you got sorted Cheery Daff, bet you were flapping for a minute then!
How is everyone this weekend? I have spent the last two days wrapping and packing our entire life into boxes. Hilarious when you think we don't even have an exchange/completion date yet! Still aiming for completion Friday, so trying to get as organised as possible considering the sheer amount of stuff we have. Hoping that the NHBC certificate is back first thing tomorrow and we can run down to the solicitors office and sort out exchanging contracts! Finger crossed!

    Hi all,

I'm slightly later than expected, but I've had a busy weekend unpacking boxes. We finally moved in as expected on Friday. Thanks for all your help, and support through this long process. From putting our house up for sale on May 24th we moved in on 20th October, I put this on so people can see how long or short a process this can be. It's been quite a journey for us, we never sold and bought in one transaction before and I certainly won't be looking to do it anytime soon.

I wish you ALL the very best in your own house move/purchases. There's some great advice on here and some real helpful and knowledgeable people also. All I can say is it's worth it in the end.

Congratulations jb_1982! :j :j Hope we're all back with a similarly cheerful ending soon :D

We packed a lot of our stuff 2 years ago Natbag and then spent forever decorating :rotfl: So much miss all my books, sewing stuff etc. It's all in the cellar wrapped in boxes and plastic - it's not damp down there but also not heated

It was a pain in the backside but the house looks great with most of our crap gone and it's been a lot easier to keep clean :o :rotfl: I have missed it all though so will NOT be turfing the boxes out! Hoping it'll make the actual mpve more straightforward though :rotfl:

Fingers croased for all of us for some progress this week. Our searches are due back, we should hear SOMETHING about a mortgage decision (hopefully an actual offer but not holdig breath), and solicitor has chased our buyers so we should find out where they're up to :j

    My crystal ball predictions?

    (1) searches won't come back yet
    (2) building society will invent some new condition that means we have to do something else stupid and it gets strug out for even longer
    (3) buyer is having some kind of problem or changing their mind

Pessimist, me? Never! :rotfl: Will probably be sat here on Friday afternoon cos STILL nothing has happened :o :rotfl:
  • Fingers crossed everyone for a good week

Natbag; I started boxing my house up once the chain got linked up in July so not silly at all even thought you haven't got a date
    - Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted
    - Student Loan gone
Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps
