@Irishpearce26 this is awful, I can’t believe some people are so inconsiderate to the buyers of their homes - don’t get me wrong, you expect to have to do some patching up/paint work etc (and probably want to) but this is wrong!  Hopefully the developer will sort it for you

Indeed, i knew i would have to do some filling in and sanding down and repainting but this will need to be cut out re-boarded and skimmed. Likely £200+ of work. I don't know if he took my suggestion of leaving the holes as is a bit too literal.

We're in a chain of three people (our sale to FTB and our purchase) and our buyers are in exactly the same position now - but my solicitor isn't giving me straight answers on when we can exchange. The only outstanding enquiries are from our buyer's solicitor about a copy of the sale of the house in 1926 but my solicitor is saying she's awaiting a reply from the land registry for that?

She said earlier she thinks we're close and it should happen 'within the next 2 weeks' however I have no idea if she means exchange or completion in 2 weeks. 

We're halfway through packing but can't really judge whether we should be doing it all ASAP or not!

We started at a similar time, that is fast! We were delayed to start with by ID issues (I was mid name change and all my documents were with the DVLA), so that slowed us down. We are expecting the last of the searches back next week, and enquiries are already going on. We are in a double chain of 3 (both my partner and I have properties in the middle of a chain of 3, mine with my ex husband) so it's a little more complicated. I can break my side of the chain though as I'm leaving my rented flat next week and living with my boyfriend until our purchase completes. Really hope we can get it pushed through soon, definitely before the stamp duty holiday ends (fingers crossed it does get an extension as it will take the pressure off).

Just waiting on our sale contract being signed and returned by our buyer and then we should be good to go. No dates have been mentioned yet. Do you think we're at a point I can ask for some indication of dates? 

Another really fast one! You can always ask the question, the worst they can say is not yet. I started at a similar time as well. Our searches are due back next week, so hopefully I won't be far behind catching up with you.

Im buying a property that currently have tenants, they now won't be leaving until beginning of May!

Solicitor says she's responded to all enquiries now and happy with what the seller's solicitor has responded with too... so should be exchanging mid-end of next week fingers crossed (I wanted earlier but we'll see) with a completion date of the 15th if all goes well. Slightly ****ing myself as that's only two weeks away though

Had a lot of back and forth with mine lately but essentially my solicitor is saying that shes happy my sale is sorted. My purchase needs basically an ok from the solicitor for that to be completed and then we can arrange dates.
Problem is - none of this is in writing and my buyer is having a tantrum that unless we agree dates today hes going to pull out. Dunno if thats a lot of hot air....

We've had some more paperwork today, enquiries from one of our buyer's solicitors. We've been asked about exchange and completion dates as well, which is exciting. We're getting post/emails almost every other day, and things seem to be really moving along - hopeful that I might not end up having to store all my stuff for too long after all.

Well we did it!! 2pm completed on our house! Offer accepted 30th October finally completed today!! It’s been stressful and I don’t ever want to do it again 😂. Good luck to everyone, keep going it will happen! X
