rachlikeswinter said:Hi all! I have a question - my solicitor has now said they're ready to receive my deposit funds; am I right in thinking once they've got this, everything is all done and dusted ready for exchange? I've signed everything they've sent me etc. They've been a bit rubbish in giving me timings - I need to give my landlord 4 weeks notice and I'm moving into a new build, so have a feeling exchange / completion will be quick - don't want it to be TOO quick!
Side note, how terrifying is it transferring your entire savings?! I'm scared of doing it ha. Also has anyone had part of their deposit in a LISA? I've given them permission for withdrawal but when do they do this? After they receive the rest of my money?1 -
Hello everybody,
I need some advice. I want to complete asap, but vendors side are taking long with replying to enquiries. What should I do to push things to pick up pace? Who do I push and how?0 -

Also I was encouraged to use the safe buyer scheme website which charges you £12 to independently show you the solicitor's bank account (so you're not being scammed) but I paid and then there was an error - no bank account details shown and 2 payments pending! So that's vaguely annoying (and seems weirdly scammy in itself?!) I called the solicitor directly though and they confirmed the account details on the phone so I'm sure it's fine. Now the safe buyer scheme people are ignoring my emails. Joy.0 -
Just heard from my solicitor that the searches are back today and have authorised then to withdraw my LISA funds.Hopefully things will start picking up now!1

Searches are all back and i signed contact earlier this week1 -
Well it seems my solicitor has done nothing for the past week on our purchase. I think she thinks there is no point as Purplebricks are so hopeless, she may as well work in cases that have a hope of completing. Meanwhile our buyers who were ‘ready to exchange’ so we said, great, we will move in with family, suddenly have a two week delay with only vague reasons given, so there is no point chasing her anyway. I give up.0

Can you get your EA to do some digging? They want their commission, so its in their interest to keep things on track.0 -
