Drawingaline said:We are waiting for buyers solicitors to review the last lot of enquiries today. We need to complete on 27th or it all falls apart as mortgage offer expires on 29th. Removals booked before Xmas due to how busy they are. I have gone through cupboards and loft and packed some bits. But I don't want to pack anything else yet. No room to store box's for any length of time tbh. I have taken this week off work (I work outside the house) to minimise the chance of having to isolate.
We are viewing the house we are hoping to buy today as it's been empty for a few months, need to check it's not missing any ceilings! And to measure up some spaces, and so the kids can we it as they are all very anxious about it all. We last saw the house in July!!!
So waiting for solicitors to decide if we can actually manage the 27th for completion and when we can exchange. Really hoping it will be before the weekend though.
So stressed and my to do list is ridiculously long!
Hope house is as you remember it (or better) and all intact.
Re the to do list: I have at least 4 different lists - one for the sale, one for the temp accommodation, one for the new (2nd) purchase and another for general life stuff which has been totally on hold for several months.
After completing 8th Jan, I'm pretty almost at the end of the first list, and taking great pleasure in ticking stuff off all of them.
You will get there!1 -

We accepted an offer on our flat this week (which we can keep, but are hoping to sell as we’d rather not be landlords) and the buyer pulled out literally AN HOUR after the memorandum was issued. It seems like nothing is going right and we’re getting nowhere. I am so fed up.
Still, hopefully looking like we’ll be able to exchange in the next few weeks rather than months!0 -
Getting close to arranging exchange/completion dates but just realised that I haven't received an Occupier's Consent Form as my boyfriend will be living in the property but isn't on the mortgage
Has anyone else had to have one signed and when did you receive this? Was it with the mortgage offer or closer to exchange/completion?
Thanks x0 -
Still waiting on our last enquiry/issue to be resolved, so I had hoped to be moving this week, but trying to remember it has only been 3 months and 1 weeks since the chain completed and we were able to instruct solicitors etc1

Pleased to be finally joining this thread after reserving on the 4th March 2020...!
Useful info in here about how solicitors workI have finally received a response to my query on whether the searches are still valid or not after asking 3 times... I guess until the offer came through they had other cases as higher priority!
Searches should be 28 days but the solicitor is looking into the option of using recently-done ones for the same development (last exchange was in December) as I am the last to exchange. I had no idea this was even an option but it makes sense, in theory.
Does anyone know of any instances where reusing someone else's searches for the same development has worked?Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

yes we got ours v early doors, but my solicitor is pretty good at sending everything we could possibly ever need to sign in really good time!
I'm hoping it will be a quick fix but she's not the quickest in responding to emails.0 -
So my initial positivity about today destroyed.
We were meant to complete last Friday. Top of the chain then cancelled that... We are still yet to receive a new date .
Alongside that our solicitor is still even yet to be told a reason for the delay.
Our solicitor keeps pushing our sellers solicitor... But our sellers are using a different conveyancer for buying and selling so no one seems to be communicating.
We just want to know what the hell is going on. Being left in the dark, after we have had a date set, is awful.0
