Are you using the same conveyancing firm you used when you bought or do you have all the information to hand?
Are your conveyancers working AND are they accepting documentation by e-mail? Some legal firms prefer snail mail. In a small chain, I don't see why there should be an issue, and expect the market is quiet so you  shouldn't get missed. Moving is a different question, you may find removal firms are booking up for when we get increased movement but as we don't have a set date, that could be your biggest issue. I assume your finances are all in place?
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

    I'll add my update
so i am also getting very close to completing hopefully next week Thursday my solicitor has requested founds today and also just waiting on help to buy founds already submitted closing statement. i will also be holding my breath
  • We are using a different firm this time but we kept everything and have provided them with NHBC certificate, electricity certificate, deeds etc etc so they have everything hopefully.

The solicitor is working from home and going into the office a few times a week to collect things. So far we have given all I.D and documentation to them and the rest has been done via email so hopefully if we have to sign anything etc it can be done that way. Is that something I should ask?

In regards to moving we have 2 removal companies that are prepared to move us one still working and one that will work when the lockdown ends, but with out a specific date yet it’s hard to determine. However if neither of these pan out then we will hire a van and do it ourselves. The developer has also said he’s happy for us to do it over the course of a few days if necessary.

All finances in place yes obviously just need the mortgage money when the solicitor requests it but bank of Ireland have been quick with everything else so far so hopefully that shouldn’t take too long.

Need searches done that can take a few weeks and land registry.  Then need to sign contract, hand it back wait for them to sign theirs. Get your solicitor to exchange and request fund from lender and also you close any savings and get closing statement from help to buy

For anyone looking for removal firms I would say try Anyvan.com, we used them yesterday and they were great. Shiply is also another website where various firms/people with vans will quote you for jobs, I had quite a few responses through them but went with Anyvan in the end. Good luck to everyone trying to complete a move in these crazy times!

Feeling mega frustrated as I’m trying to get this sorted. Asked nationwide to close my isa account and send closing statement. I was told on the mortgage app that I could request it via email once closed.

It’s taken them until today to close the account. Then they said it would be another 7 working days to get the closing statement. Then have to wait couple days for the bonus to process when the solicitor goes for it.

ive been on Twitter who said they can’t send it via email. Been back on the chat who said they can but it’s not on the system yet. I asked I thought it would be automitc why not. They said they do it in batches. Crazy. So looks like next week may not be possible. Ahhh right on the edge of completing too.

Also tried to ask admiral about insurance as we won’t be fully moved in due to needing help to and can’t sue to the situation . The house is vacant and we could decorate and prepare for it. They said they need exchange and completion dates. I don’t have them as we are waiting on this statement. So frustating. Trying to do things right and plan money too.

I am the one that’s sorting all of this stuff out. I would get my partner to help but I would be worried he would knack it up if you know what I mean. He isn’t the best to think of questions to ask.

I thought that if you went into a branch to close the account they gave you the statement there and then.

I have got the statement sent by email. If anyone needs the statement sent by email please use the mortage app. As all other parts of nationwide aren’t allowing it via email.

Partner is going to drop the form that needed completing to the solictor and hopefully now be able to exchange and complete. I am hoping by Thursday next week as he did mention next week. I want to be there to collect the keys . I want to see it through to the end .
